We went on the full day tour, zip line, cave tubing, elephant cave and kayaking. We initially were not booked for the zipline but paid the extra and joined in with the rest of the group, otherwise your just waiting about... The whole day was excellent, more so as the mixed group of different nationalities really gelled well together. The elephant cave is a bit of a disappointment but hey ho, we seen it. The zipline was terrific, there was quite a climb to the top but we were rewarded with about nine descents. All equally thrilling.... there is even a dual line for partners to traverse.... loved it. The cave tubing was great fun and the cave is actually quite deep and dark but reasonably shallow the whole way. Lunch was surprisingly good, hot cooked rice, chicken and veg skewers with salad, fruit and bottled water. We went to Lagoon four, which is a small possibly manmade lake. It was quiet apart from our group which was enjoyable. A little fun and splashing about here. There was a pleasant walk to the kayaks on the river. (early November is not too hot). They are more kayak boards than proper kayaks. Two to a kayak. I think it was only about 5k down river, passing many people tubing and kayaking. The guides ensured there was lots if full and splashing along the way..... Five minutes from the end they stop at a riverside bar that had covered lounge areas to have a drink and relax. We all had a game of petanque (french game of bowls). After thirty minutes or so it was back into the kayaks for the final five minutes to finish. The guides during the day were terrific and really made sure we were having fun. The main guide Nic, was first class. Thanks Nic. Only negative fir some people was that when we finished kayaking we had to walk 50m or so up to the office on the main street to get our bags which we had left in the transport bus. ... (the girls in swimsuits were not happy with this...). Then everyone who was within easy walking distance if their accommodation made their way back on foot. In summary, a terrific day out and very glad we done the zipline. Value for money.

I’ve read a few negative reviews of AK on here but our experiences with them this week in Vang Vien have been positive. There are so many tour companies here all offering the same or similar packages, so, it’s hard to decipher who to book with. It’s worth speaking to other travellers to get an idea of what they paid for a similar tour before the haggling begins at the office. We had a day tour with AK to the zip line, cave, tubing, lagoon and kayaking with lunch included for 2 adults and 2 kids (7&9) which turned out to be a really memorable day out. The guides were patient with the kids from both families on the tour and the pace of the day was never rushed or too slow. We went back to AK to book our Balloon ride at sunrise the next morning and leave Vang Vien with great memories from an awesome visit here.

I paid for a full day tour to the elephant cave, zipline, tham nam cave, blue lagoon 4, and kayaking along the nam song river. (250k) We were given a pick up time of 8.30 to 9am. At 8.50am, we were the first ones to be picked up in the pick up truck. It would have been good if they were more punctual. After picking up another 5 individuals, we started heading north. The zipline area was pretty fun with 9 rounds of zipline. There were also some aspects of high element activities incorporated into it. The lunch served was pretty decent as well. There was tomato fried rice, 3 chicken skewers, bananas, and sliced baguette with condensed milk. What I liked about this order of activities was the dry activities (elephant cave and zipline) were done first. The kayaking part was alright. It is a 2-man kayak, which means that the group will be split up. The more experienced kayakers will sit behind. I thought it was very unfortunate that we were not sent back to our hotels after the end of the kayaking activity. We were told to walk back. We also booked the mini van to Luang Prabang for 9am (90k). When I thought we had picked up all the passengers, we stopped at a petrol kiosk and waited for about 5 minutes so that another two mini vans could transfer their passengers over. It was 9.30am by the time we started our journey proper. The driver was also distracted for most of the journey, constantly making phone calls and steering with one hand. There was one toilet break 1 hour into the drive.

We paid $20 for a half-day of zip-lining and cave tubing - a bargain. In the morning, we had enough time to climb up to see the viewpoint in Vang Vieng. The driver who picked us up could not speak English which was not a problem as he stopped at a random house on route, where they explained to us what would happen. It was just the two of us who went there. He provided us with wet bags and lifejackets, then led us on a short walk before we arrived to the location. We left our belongings in the lockers and then went to do the zip-lining. The walk up was scary and there were lots of steep ladders. It felt DIY in a good way and it was totally worth the climb. Zip-lining was AMAZING! The craziness of the staff added to the experience - they were bouncing the wires, trying to scare us and splashing old Korean women with water in the cave later. There were many zip-lines around, maybe 10 or so. The final one was an epic frontal one. Cave tubing was short but interesting including a short walk deeper into the cave when the water dried up. Fantastic - highly recommended.

We booked our half day tour with AK home. Which included 4 caves (elephant cave, water cave, loup cave, hoi cave and a bluelagoon no.4). The price is at 120000kip per person. The elephant cave and water cave was still safe to visit. But for Loup Cave, I would advise to avoid it as the steps to go into the cave were quite steep and no proper railing to guide you. It is just not safe for tourist to visit unless you are the adverture type. Nowonder there were no other tourists along the way. We skipped the Hoi cave as the tourguide mentioned that it also need some climbing. The total disappointment was when we were led to the blue lagoon no.4. It looked like a man-made pond, empty with no tourists, looks like along time noone visited the place......just felt so helpless. My advice is to skip this half day package.
