We booked the full day water cave, canoe and zip line. The pickup was on time, the guide spoke English and we were gone for the water cave and the one activities. All the day was fun and the zip-line was great. I attach a photo of the zip-line plan so travelers can see the length of each zip-line. There are 6 of them and a challenge bridge (the last zip-line in the photo was cancelled).
All the day was super but I take one star off because of the lunch. It was good but we got it too early (around 11:00) which was too early for everyone so no one was really hungry. There was also some time killing after the early lunch and this was not really needed as the day was just starting and everyone was ready for more action after the water cave.

I arranged for all of my activities in Vang Vieng via email with Wonderful Tours Laos and everything went out smoothly without any complaint.

For the ballooning, we booked at $80 per person (but I think you can make a bargain at $75/pax because the other one going on the same ballooning told me that she booked - maybe not @wonderful tours at $75/pax). The guy of the ballooning company picked us up on time.

For the kayaking, we took a half day trip starting from 8:30 till 11:00. They picked us at the guesthouse on time. We were a group of 5 people and there are two guides (one experienced and one assistant of him) going with us. It was a relaxing kayaking trip with some drift (not heavy at all) and nice scenery along the river. This was the first time we did kayaking but felt very comfortable because if you could not manage it, the guide would attach your kayak to his via a rope (which meant that you didn't need any skill to control the direction of your own kayak). It was a 10km kayaking ride with very well-equipped preparation (helmet, water proof bags for your belongings, water, life vest). The lead guide (I think his name is Aluon or sth like that) had a great sense of humour, caring and spoke good English.
Wonderful tours also helped us to book a shared 15-seater minivan from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang at @110,000 kip per pax. The mini van departed on time @ 3pm and the van itself was in a very good condition. The driver was nice and caring (one of us vomitted on the way because of the winding road and the driver automatically stopped the car so that she could enjoy the air to feel better.
The phone number of the manager named Bounphanh is 02022244775.

We booked a one day tour with kayaking and caving, only $15 pp. We weren't sure what to expect of the kayaking, thought it would be boring, but was sooo much fun! Because it was rainy season, the river had a good current. However, the water cave was flooded so we couldn't go tubing in the cave. The other cave you will visit, elephant cave, is not that special.
Group size was perfect; just enough people. The guides were really funny and could explain a lot. We all got a waterproof bag for our valuables. Lunch was perfect; lots of food! They also provided loads of water during the day.
Oh: the next day we realized we forgot something in the car, but the staff called immediately and send a motor to pick it up for us. So friendly!

An absolutely terrible experience plagued by poor communication and a rushed, slapdash approach to the activities. We booked a half-day tour of two caves and the blue lagoon. We were picked up by a truck which, upon us arriving, left with our bag and belongings. This was worrying enough, but we were also given life jackets without any explanation as to what they were for. We were rushed through the first cave with the guide moving so fast it was impossible to take any photos or even take in the scenery. They explained nothing which itself wasn’t a problem, but they seemed bent on moving at top speed through the cave.

We then learned that we had to tube for four or five minutes into the second cave which, once again, would have been fine had we been alerted before they took our belongings (including our bathers). Since we hadn’t been warned our clothes got completely wet. Then, we found ourselves in a dark and confined space, once again moving at top speed. The guide didn’t check at any point that everyone had made it out - seemingly only being focused on reaching the next tour group as fast as possible. I was fine but my partner who had recently sprained her ankle and wrist struggled and found the whole experience quite distressing.

After having taken an hour to complete half of the half-day tour we were then unceremoniously dumped at the Blue Lagoon for two hours. The lagoon was fine, but certainly not nice enough to warrant twice the time of the other half of the tour. I strongly recommend you consider a different tour operator or making your own way and spare yourself this pathetic offering.

I would like to rate this agency to be worse than terrible level but terrible is lowest level in choice.

I traveled to Vangvieng with my friends on 2-4 May 2015.
We were looking for bus ticket from Vang Vieng to Vientiane on 4 May 2015 (depart time 9.00a.m). and after that we have to take a train at Nongkhai,Thailand.
We looked and talked to many agencies around thier until we saw this agency.
We saw this agency have "Tripadvisor mark" at his shop, we believe that it's a reliable mark.
So we asked them about bus available.
The staff called to bus company(I think) and he told "there is available seat for you". We decided to buy ticket at that time to make sure that we have a bus to go back to Vientiane (50,000kip/person=total 150,000kip). We already checked and confirmed name of our hotel and room number with him. We got the some thing like reservation ticket.
On 4th May, Bus did not come to pick up at hotel and we have wait for 1 hr. with no bus coming to pick up us
I had to ask hotel staff to call to this company and also bus company(tel no. on ticket).
Finally we found out that THIS ” WONDERFUL TOUR LAOS” agency probably did not send our reservation to bus company(we found out later bus company named SOUTCHAI TRAVEL). THIS AGENCY do nothing to take their
responsibility.

I have to contact to bus company by myself and have a hugh argument with them.
SOUTCHAI TRAVEL said very bad and rude to me and did nothing also.
We almost missed our train but
we got a help from staff at bus terminal not from both companies.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL "WONDERFUL TOUR LAOS" and "SOUTCHAI TRAVEL"

First of all, pick up time was 9am at their office (as our guesthouse was really close), we waited more than 30mins because they forgot about us (that's what the guide said later on). We arrive where the others were and miss all the informative part. Guides were not friendly, seemed like they didn't like at all what they were doing. Just splashing you sometimes during the kayaking but not helpful (and some on the rude side too) during the day. Main issue: they are not honest about the program. We chose the Kayak - Tubing - Blue Lagoon tour. Nobody told us that we would be on the same tour as other people doing zip lining as well, so we had to wait over an hour for them to finish, with absolutely nothing to do. We asked if we could have water while waiting and the answer was "sorry water is in the kayak". Ok, fine. Then they wanted us to have lunch by ourselves even if we said (when they asked us 3 times) we wouldn't mind to wait for the group to eat all together. They said we would do kayaking twice and come back at 5pm but actually did it only once at the beginning and were back at their office at 3:30pm. We are traveling SE Asia since months now and this is the worst tour experience we had so far. Wouldn't recommend.

I was a solo traveler who had been to Vang Vieng the previous year but wanted to return and explore more of the town. I knew I didn't want to get wet so I spoke with one of the guys at Wonderful Tours and he recommended I do a half day trek to several caves, including the Elephant Cave. They use the word "trekking" to loosely mean "walking." Fortunately I enjoy walking and the day was as low-key as I wanted.

I had a guide to myself and we first visited the Elephant Cave followed by Cave Loub Nam and Cave Hoi. Elephant Cave doesn't take much time to visit as it has an open face. Caves Loub Nam and Hoi are both small, dark, humid and quite frankly on the more bland side.

After exploring the caves we headed to an area where lunch was served. There were other people eating there who had done tubing, kayaking or zip lining. The food was home cooked chicken and rice. We passed quite a few cows during my morning walk and my guide told me that the cows smell the food and come to the barbecue. I kind of laughed until I realized that the cows really DO come to the gate of the eating area. They are also fed any leftover food that no one eats. I'm just glad they serve chicken and not beef. It would be a bit cannibalistic to feed a cow beef.

After lunch my guide and I passed through a local school where the area had been shut down to host a Hmong festival. It was a mini-carnival where anyone could try carnival games such as popping balloons for prizes, makeshift rides and purchase local treats. There was a competition at the time where young girls performed their Hmong tribe dance for judges.

While my day would have been boring for most, I truly had a great time. Fortunately Wonderful Tours has lots of other things to do for action seekers.

Do the cave / cave tube / kayak / zipline day (35 usd if they're busy).
It's great fun. The elephant cave is a waste of time. The cave tubing is an experience.

But it's the kayaking and tubing that you really come for, and it's great fun. It's only the wonderful laos company that ziplines above the mekong, and they have some great lines.

My boyfriend and I booked a full day with this agency, tubing in a cave + kayaking in the river. The bus showed up quite late, and as a result we arrived to the tubing site when it was already packed with Asians. We had to wait, because the official "excuse" was that they were waiting for the level of water in the caves to low down, while all the other groups were going without any problem. When our turn finally arrived, someone from our group panicked for claustrophoby and all the group had to go out. Note that the other groups went in and out without any problem. After lunch and a long and boring wait, we finally had some action, kayaking down the river. This part was real fun!! I suggerst you just kajak in the rain season, the caves can be flooded easily..
