This was a trip of a lifetime! My husband and I wanted to go somewhere different and exciting for our honeymoon and we agreed upon on Africa, and we are so happy we did. Mark and Lucy were amazing to work with. They had our entire trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar planned out for us and it was exactly what we were looking for. We had plenty of safari days (even got to see the Big 5 AND their babies - incredible!) and plenty of relaxing days on Zanzibar.
This was the perfect honeymoon. Seeing all the animals in their natural habitat was awesome, spending our nights at beautiful hotels with friendly staff and delicious food was so nice, but getting to visit a beautiful country was just so special.
Our guide, Masatu, was phenomenal. It was as if he knew what the animals were thinking and where they would go to next, or where he would be able to find them while we were out gaming. We couldn’t ask for a better guide for our trip.
If you’re looking for a trip of a lifetime look no further than Odyssey Safaris - Mark and Lucy will be plan the best trip ever for you! We are already talking about our next African adventure!

Oddessey Safaris handled my entire trip and was great to work with. Everything from flights to my safari schedule was completed. Very good to work with, excellent information about the trip. The safari was fantastic. More than I hoped for. Thank you Odessey for a wonderful trip of a lifetime. Mike

We visited both Kenya and Rwanda with Odyssey Safaris. From the start, we were incredibly impressed with the pleasant manner, patience and flexibility shown by the company director, Mark, as we planned our trip and developed our itinerary. It was clear from the outset that he was truly invested in creating a tour we would love! Our guides in each country were also extremely professional, personable and knowledgeable. We felt so comfortable and well taken care of by each. From the game drives in Kenya's Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru, to the chimpanzee and gorilla treks in Rwanda's Nyungwe and Volcanos National Parks and the exquisite beauty of the land and the people of Rwanda, we were delighted with our 2 week tour! I would highly recommend Odyssey Safaris. We can't say enough about their professionalism, competence and the effort they all put in to insure we had a wonderful tour, all for what we felt was a relatively reasonable price.

Wow - what an absolutely amazing trip!
Sylvia was so helpful and diligent. She worked with us over a good few weeks to tailor the trip to our requirements - and did an absolutely brilliant job. Thanks!
We were looked after by Jackson. You couldn't ask to have a nicer, and more knowledgable guide/driver. Jackson has a massive smile - and an even larger heart. He has encyclopaedic knowledge of the many parks we visited, and where to find the animals. We easily found the Big 5, and so much more!
I'm a keen photographer and Jackson was incredibly patient, contributing great guidance to provide the best angles - and also volunteered to be in a few pictures too!
The choice of hotels etc. was great - and throughout the Odyssey team were attentive to all our requirements.
Our trip also included a week in Tanzania and the Odyssey team worked seamlessly to ensure that our whole trip was expertly organised.
We would definitely recommend Odyssey.
Thank you so much for making our 25th anniversary trip something to remember for the many years to come!

Simon our guide and driver was incredible. With his expertise we were able to see the Big 5 and several other animals who call Kenya home. Simon shared his expertise knowledge of the region and the animals. We were able to get up close without disturbing their habitat. We were able to see the Rhino which is guarded. Simon was able to obtain permission from the guide to view the sleeping, Rhino. We were also able to observe the Leopard who was only 5 mins from our Safari Camp. Both animals are not always able to be seen on a safari. Simon found both. My favorites were the Zebras and the Lions.

Took my teen grandkids on Kenya Safari. Needed an experience that would be great for them while being safe and comfortable. I took some time to find the right agency to work with and finally found Odyssey ... and it was the right choice. About a million emails exchanged with our advisor Lucy answering my questions and figuring out an itinerary. Lucy's patience was admirable!
Lots of back and forth on trip details and hotel/camp experiences. Lucy was great on explaining why one choice was better than another and why one particular experience might be the right choice. We had limited time and a desire to cover a lot of territory, and wee did. And did I mention that Lucy was attentive to our 'budget' and kept the entire trip below what I thought it was going to cost based on other published tour prices.
We had the same guide and the same land cruiser from arrival at the airport to departure a week later. Hotels were great and the tented camps outstanding. And we saw every possible animal the country had (and we have a hundred plus pictures to prove it). Our guide got us close to animals every day and the variety each day was amazing.
When taking grandkids, one key element is safety. Parents expect them to come home intact. And Odyssey delivered .. the experience was expansive but also always safe. Every camp and every hotel.
Finally, a small item that was surprisingly well received. Odyssey prepares a custom web site for the trip with the specific itinerary and details about each day with lots of pictures. The kids loved it and the parents even more. It made the trip planning easier because everyone understood each step, stop and detail.
Kenya was terrific and recommended. Odyssey Safaris was outstanding and highly recommended. So glad I chose them for this trip.

One of the best trips/experiences I've ever had thanks to Odyssey safaris. It was a family trip comprised of 10 couples.
We were immediately greeted by Simon and Jackson from Nairobi airport upon landing. I can't express how great it was to be picked up by to Landcruiser safari cars.
Accommodations: The hotels we stayed at were perfect. Our fist stop in Amboselli and our last stop at Masai Mara had a camping feel as the resort runs on generators. However, these sites put you close to the game drives and tons of natural wild life roaming the property. Our second location was at Lake Naivasha and that was similar to a 5 star resort. Hotel feel with wildlife at your doorstep. The lobby area was beautiful and fun library feel where you can have drinks.
Food: The food was incredible. This was the part I was most fearful of, but some of the dishes and meals we had was some of the best food that I may not get to experience again. All food is buffet style, so you will have different ethnicities of food, however, all their local meals and curries were delicious.
Experience: You spend a lot of time in the car, so get used to traveling because it is all worth it. You spend hours on game drives as each park gets better and better. Zebras, giraffes, and elephants are everywhere! Lions, leopards, and cheetahs are harder to spot, but you'll get tons of opportunities at Masai Mara.
Other activities to consider would be visiting a tribe and doing a hot air balloon over Masai Mara. I'd highly recommend both as they added a nice touch to our vacation.
Tour Guides: We were so pleased with Simon and Jackson. They stay with you the entire trip, drive you everywhere, and so knowledgeable of the city and wild life. They made this trip fun for us and answered any questions we had along the way.
Ease of Travel: Lots of time in the car, get used to it. Other than that, I've felt safe the entire way there and once you get used to the car rides, you realize how serene the experience is. Going to miss game drives with the top off the land cruiser and feeling the wind flowing through the car as we gaze at wildlife.
Conclusion: You have to do this once in your life. It's an unforgettable experience and I recommend you do this with Odyssey. We saw other vehicles and vacationers with other companies, and our car looked better, cleaner, and our experience seemed more fun. Please go to Kenya, and please experience with Odyssey.

10/10! It was perfect, our guide Charles made sure we saw it all! Every day was well thought out, the pre planning with Sylvia was a breeze - even with my 100+ questions! I will be talking about this trip for years, and I highly recommend everyone go on safari.

If you love animals and love seeing them in their natural habitat, this the trip for you! Our guides were very knowledgeable and worked diligently. The accommodations were fabulous including two nights in a tent! Mark and Lucy were invaluable in guiding us through the process and paperwork! Odyssey is top notch; we look forward to our next trip with them! M & R

Every part of this incredible trip was my favorite!! Kenya is photographers dream come true. The trip was made especially memorable by our guide, Simon! He really made the trip exciting with his knowledge of the country and wildlife. He went out of his way to be sure everything met our every expectation. And I can't thank Lucy for her tireless efforts in arranging all the travel and accommodations!

Are there animals in Kenya at the beginning of July? The Great Migration is not scheduled to happen until August or September.
