Visited Zion during COVID and the park shuttle tickets were completely booked for weeks. Found Zion Adventure Co and they were truly lifesavers! We wanted to do the Narrows and they were able to make it happen through their private shuttle and gear! I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to do the Narrows due to the ease of the shuttle and rental gear - renting the gear made the experience much better for us as I cant imagine doing the hike without it. The drivers were so knowledgable about the area. I recommend physically going in to book a tour/ask questions because they don't seem to answer the phone.

Trevor was really helpful when we needed to book a shuttle into the canyon (Zion shuttles were not running at the time because of COVID), and we got an 8am spot because of a cancellation. He knew the canyon trails well and was able to help us make a decision about which to climb based on the ages of our children and our time frame. It was really nice to have a scheduled pick up after the hike as well. I would imagine the $55 per person would put some people off, but it made our day! The owner drove the shuttle in order to reduce the risk to his staff, and that speaks volumes to me. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again when we return to Zion!

We decided to hike the Narrows as a family of four (our kids are 8 and 10), and the staff at Zion Adventures were so friendly and informative. They answered all our questions, made sure our gear fit well, and even provided us with a map detailing the Narrows, what landmarks to look for, how far we could go with our kids, etc. They also sell a lot of gear you might have forgotten or not realized you needed so also a good place to stock up. Our kids even got a few stickers that one of the staff had designed herself! Price was affordable at $30 per person for boots, neoprene socks and a hiking stick. We rented our gear the night before and just had to return it by 7pm the following day.

I rented Narrows gear from this company. Since we booked the gear in Dec when the trip was coming up in March I reached out for more information. I still have yet to receive a call back. When I returned home from the trip i also emailed and have not gotten a response. The weather was unseasonably warm so I ended up changing my gear and had to inquire if I would receive the difference in price reimbursed. The store has a big staff of teenagers but they are all hanging outside instead of helping customers causing long waits for no reason. You can rent narrows gear for the same or cheaper actually at the park. I would highly recommend doing that over using this inept company. You also do not have to schlep around the gear on shuttles as you can pick up and return on site.

We were dropped off for The Narrows Hike at 7 a.m. only to find the trail was closed due to fallen rock from a lightening strike. We were stranded.
A member of our group ran after a Company Driver to update them and we were told we had the same pick up time at 12:30 pm but needed to get to the lodge.
We hiked five hours to the lodge and were not picked up.
We then went to the rode and waved down a company driver. Who told us he was full. We continued to wait and an employee came along asking our names. She said we were not who she was there to pick-up but would give us a ride. Meaning they had no accountability for the customers need rides.
We were refused a refund because Zion Adventure said they provided a shuttle service. Do not use this company! Plan ahead and book the park shuttle 30 days before your trip for $1.00.
The female driver gave me 2 glares for stating my dissatisfaction along with immediately talking to a co-worker within my ear shot about our group.

The time you took to write some feedback is appreciated. It is clear that your day was full of confusion. We apologise that your trip was turned upside down because of the rock fall. Others were in your position that day, and talked to us in person after they returned. We would like to mend the relationship you have with us, and maybe even have you come visit us again! If you are also interested in this, please reach out to a Zion Adventure Company manager and we are willing to work things out.

The Guided Tour of the Narrows was well worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, safe outdoorsperson. Besides outfitting us in the proper cold weather gear for a late November plunge into the Virgin River, she entertained us with local and natural history. Would definitely use this company again for another adventure.

Company is professional and safety-oriented. Tours aren't cheap but they provide a first class experience from gear to guide.
Took the 8 hour narrows trip with wife and two grandkids. Adam Spahn, our guide, became a human walking stick for my wife that had difficulty negotiating the river while at the same time looking after the rest of us and providing fun activities for the kids. A very conscientious, mature, and capable guide. We would not have had the great experience without him.
It's one of the best things you can do in the park.

There are plenty of places in Springdale you can rent your equipment from but trust me when I say take your business here!! We had a very rude and off-putting experience at Zion Outfitters and had the exact opposite experience at Zion Adventures. It was colder than usual when we were there and our kids are only 6 and 8 so we were unsure if it was a good idea to bring them to the Narrows. While other companies were very rude and off-putting about even considering bringing our family out to the Narrows, Zion Adventure Company was very friendly and considerate. They did say that the dry suits need to fit exactly in order to protect the wearer and warned us that the water would be chilly but, knowing how interested we were in exploring the Narrows, they proceeded to have our children try on the suits to rule out the idea completely. They took their time and allowed us to try on the suits and even double checked the fit of the dry suit gaskets to ensure the kids would be protected. We ended up going to the Narrows because the kids size small dry suit fit our kids and had a spectacular time!! Had we stopped at Zion Outfitters, we would've been deprived of the amazing experience that is that Narrows. We also did a family bike ride along the Pa'Rus trail and their staff was friendly and helpful as they were with the Narrows. Please support this friendly and accommodating business - they made our trip!!

We rented summer Narrows gear from here and are glad we did. I choose this business because of the positive reviews and it's a couple dollars cheaper than others. Our group of 2 adults, 2 kids (youngest is 8) were able to enjoy 8 hours in the Narrows thanks to the gear. We didn't quite make it all the way; stopped to rest, admire the scenery, and play a lot. But we noticed that the crowd lessened the further out we got and it was mostly those that had the gear that made it as far as we did; especially with kids. We had no bruises, cuts, or injuries and were not sore during or after the hike (being physically fit is key here too). Zion Adventures replied promptly when I emailed them beforehand to ask if they had small enough gear for my 8 yr old and didn't require prepayment. I appreciate this since it's a weather-dependent activity. Staff was busy but took the time to make sure our equipment fit when we picked it up the evening before. They also gave good advice for the hike. I'm glad we took the advice that it's not essential to get to the trailhead super early. We got there at about 8:15am and were grateful for more sleep, relaxed morning prep time, and warmer starting temp. Hydration packs and plenty of food are important to have too.

I would give Zion Adventures the best recommendation possible. Rich and Michelle (owners) went out of there way to to give these graduating seniors and experience they will never forget. It is refreshing to see business owners that are more concerned about the customers experience rather than making a profit...especially in times where their business is slow. I am a customer of theirs for life. Thanks for helping these grads make their senior trip one they will never forget.

How do I get in touch with the company? I have sent 3 emails, nobody picks up the voicemails. I have a gift certificate I’d like to use with them as well as booking large private tours but have been unable to reach anyone

We are doing the narrows top down in July, I have booked our shuttle for that day but I can't find information on where to park. Does anyone have information on this?

There is paid parking at the just outside the Zion park entrance. Metered parking is along the street. Free parking is available in the park - largest lot is the Visitor Center - but it fills up by 8 a.m. or so. If you're staying in Springdale - leave your vehicle at the hotel and ride the free shuttle to the Zion NP stop, walk across the bridge and into the park. The free park shuttle at the NPS Visitor Center is also good transit.

Several questions: Im a photographer wanting a jeep tour to check out the vistas for photo opportunities. Secondly, hiking not an option due to knee problem but short walks OK, so are the slot canyons accessible via jeep? What tour do you recommend...thanks!

I'm certain that the folks in charge can accommodate whatever preference or limitations you might have. Just a matter of getting the right person on the phone and explaining your needs.
I found them to be quite accommodating-
Can you reserve rentals prior to your visit?

Yes absolutely. We did. I'd recommend calling them directly to do so. The people there are super friendly and helpful on the phone as well as in person!

Canyoneering Day Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you hike around and go to different repels or is it just hanging out in one spot and doing the same 2-3 repels?

My wife and I used Zion Adventure Company to do a full day Canyoneering trip in April. First, they talk to you briefly to decide what would be best suited for your abilities before deciding where to go for the day. None of the hikes are actually in Zion. In our case we went onto BLM land east of Zion where we were the only folks, which was very nice. We then repelled into the canyon (~120 feet). We then walked the length of the slot canyon (2-3 miles) and did another 5 or 6 repels ranging anywhere from 20-50 feet. Our guide took time to explain the best repelling technique for each situation and to "show us the ropes"--literally. There were a lot of smaller slides and drops that our guide also showed us how to manage, which was very helpful when we did Spooky and Peekaboo Gulches later in the trip. Our entire hike, including the time in the slot canyon was probably 5 miles roundtrip. With travel time, lunch, and stopping off at a nice little German bakery for a pastry, we returned around 3:30.

If you plan on Hiking the Narrows early in the morning can you pick up the gear the evening/night before?
Jesse G
Salt Lake City, UT
Yes you can! Typically, the staff in the shop will begin renting out gear for the following day around 4-5pm, though sometimes they will rent it out earlier, particularly if you have a big group to size. The rental process includes an informational session (7 minute video and filling your group in on current conditions), and time to try on gear. Plan on spending up to half an hour on the rental process.
One last note, because the rental process tends to take 20-30 minutes, outfitters generally try to avoid starting a group on the process after 7:30pm as they close at 8, so plan accordingly.

Just a reminder that Zion Adventure Company does NOT control the flow of the river, but did advise of its lower state, and there is tonz of other stuff to do there other than floating. Peace!
