This was a great canyoneering experience! At first we wanted to take the morning session but the afternoon session actually worked out much better with weather being perfect. We were able to book the adventure a day before for 4 people and got the whole guide to ourselves. Many other canyoneering places were booked at least a week out and had higher prices.

Our guide Melissa was AMAZING! she explained everything well, great conversations, gave us choice to where to go, made us feel safe and allowed the perfect amount of time to experience what we expected to in a Half day trip. I've already had friends reach out and would like to try something like this. I highly recommend this company.

Amanda and Ben were on time, professional, and safety conscious while also being personable, low key, and responsive to our experience. We have a small bit of climbing experience and not much hesitation so Amanda kept our tour moving and we were able to do do some extra rappelling in a totally empty canyon. She kept checking in to be sure we were comfortable with the experience and I feel like if we had been nervous she would have responded to that as well. I highly recommend this activity as something truly unique to Zion and surrounding area. Really worth the cost.

This was one of the high points of our trip! I went with my 15 year old daughter and we both had a great time. Our guide Graham was a great instructor, very focused on the group’s safety, and just a blast to hang out with. Graham was operating a safety rope so we were safe even if we did something wrong, but with his instruction, everything was super smooth. We saw some other groups out there and they were mostly having fun, but IMHO we had the best service and guide that morning. ;-)

Our tour was mostly rappelling - basically some short hikes through the canyons, then a rappel, a little more hike, another rappel, etc. The views are absolutely beautiful, and the hiking and rappelling are really fun. I’d strongly recommend this to anyone in the area who’s comfortable with light hiking and assisted rappelling.

We started at 6:45, and I’d strongly recommend that too - the canyons are shaded, but they are cooler in the morning, and we got there before the other groups.

I’ve been to over 20 countries and on countless guided tours (via ferratas, underground tunneling, mountain climbing). I’ve always had implicit trust in my tour guide and my safety UNTIL my high adventure tour with Matt. A primary qualification as a tour guide is being able to properly assess the skill level of each member of the tour and choosing the appropriate canyons. Given the high adventure tour says “no experience needed” and we told Matt that we all didn’t have any real experience canyoneering, why would you take us on a canyon so difficult you have only accomplished it with one other group?? At one point in the route, I had to plank across a slit 30 ft in the air and almost dropped to the depth of the canyon. And I would have had Matt no physically anchored himself under me to catch me with his body when I lost my gripe. I’m thankful that he was there to catch me but I’m not thankful that he put me in such a precarious position where I could have DIED or seriously injured myself. My group almost fell off the cliff of this canyon multiple times and I don’t recommend this tour to anyone.

Hello Grace. We are extremely sorry to hear you were put in a situation where you did not feel 100% safe. That is a fail on our guide service and the guide. Our trips are designed to prioritise safety 1st and adventure 2nd. I can see that this was not accomplished in your case and we had no idea that this happened all the way back in September. I wish you would have let us know about this the day of your trip so we could have addressed the events immediately. I do not think that experience level was a factor, you should feel 100% safe during the entirety of your trip. Please consider giving us another chance and reference this trip for a credit. I will guide your trip personally. Eric Draper - Owner/Guide

We had an amazing trip with Andy!! Not only was he super fun and knowledgeable...but he made an effort to slow down and teach us various techinical skills since we are newly involved in the climbing community! We had varying level of skills and interest in our group...and he was able to accommodate everyone and make brand new climbers feel safe!

My wife and I along with another couple signed up for a Canyon Adventure tour with Red Desert Adventure. Our guide Jack picked us up right on time at our hotel. After a drive up into the high country we had a nice off road trip to our trail head. Conditions were perfect for a hike and the fresh snow allowed us to see the tracks of all the different wildlife in the area. We even saw Mountain Lion tracks.

Jack gave us some basic instructions on repelling and we each descended down into the canyon. We all felt 100% confident and safe with our expert guide. The slot canyon was beautiful as the sun lit up the various shades of orange and red. We made our way through the canyon repelling along the way. Taking pictures and soaking in nature’s beauty. We had the whole canyon to ourselves and it made for a really fun trip. Our guide Jack grew up in the area and was a wealth of information on local history, wildlife and terrain. He was a total pro and made the trip extra enjoyable. We will definitely be back to Book another trip!

This was so much fun!! My husband and I are honeymooning in Zion and decided to do a canyoneering day as part of our trip. We booked with Red Desert Adventure a couple of weeks ago. Graham picked us up at 8:00 am on the dot and then took us to Yankee Doodle to learn how to rappel and climb. The highlight of this entire thing? Graham! He was the best guide you could ask for or even hope for. We felt 100% safe the entire time. This was our first time canyoneering and it definitely won’t be my last! Graham was informative, experienced, incredibly patient, and demonstrated every little and big move and maneuver required to get through the canyon. Information is power and each time we had a question about technique he would take the time to answer them. He was an incredible teacher and clearly very experienced. I would trust him to teach my children how to canyoneer if I had them. On top of that, he was warm and open and a great conversationalist. You end up spending a lot of time with your guide who is a complete stranger and Graham really made this experience memorable, fun, warm and not scary at all.

Bottom line? Choose Red Rock Adventure AND ask for Graham!

This was a fantastic experience for the whole family, and a unique way to see the natural beauty of the great Zion area. Our guide was Jack, and he was great: super knowledgable about the plants, animals and geology of the area, and super competent and patient in guiding a family of 5 (including two 12 year olds) in our first canyoneering adventure (and our first time wearing a harness or belaying!). Setting up the trip with Eric was incredibly easy, and it was great that he was able to accommodate our schedule at relatively short notice. This was truly a highlight of our trip to UT and I highly recommend calling Red Desert if you're planning a trip to Zion!

We visited Zion National Park and needed an additional activity during our stay. Matt and Jack picked us up at 7:00 am and took us to Yankee Doodle Canyon. It was truly a special adventure. We had 4 teens between the age of 12-14 and four adults and were able to hit up every canyon. All the kids were able to handle the canyons, including a 75 foot repel.

The guides made it extra special. They were extremely knowledgeable and safe and made sure everyone had a great time.

I highly recommend this trip and ask for Jack and Matt.

Our small family of three wanted to do something different during our trip to Utah and what an experience we had. Our guide, Josh, has over 20 years experience and made up feel comfortable and safe the entire time. I have a fear of heights, and Josh told me we would work on getting me over the fear during our half day canyoneering and rappelling excursion. My 8 year old did a spectacular job navigating the climbs and rappelling down the high cliffs.

I would highly recommend Red Desert Adventures and Josh as a guide. This is also a husband and wife small business that runs everything with 9 guides. IMPRESSIVE!!!
