There is nothing quite like standing on top of Cloud's Rest. We live in a beautiful world. And sometimes some of the best things are pretty much free. Do yourself a favor and plan this hike sometime in your lifetime. Do your research on Alltrails.com.

I think that if anyone describes this walk as boring that tells you more about them than it does about the walk. It is wonderfully varied, shady for a lot of the way which is perfect for a hot day and glimpses of great views...More

Clouds Rest can be reached from the Sunrise Lakes Trailhead on Tioga Road or from Happy Isles in Yosemite Valley. Most people opt for the 14 mi/22.5 km roundtrip trail from Tioga Road, which has an elevation gain of 1800 ft/550 m. The trail is...More

The 7.2 mile hike started at the Sunrise Trailhead at Tenaya lake at about 8:45 in the morning. The first thing we encountered was Tenaya Creek and luckily we were prepared. Took our shoes off and Fjorded the stream on top of the rocks. The...More

This was my first ever 'proper' hike, and though I struggled, it was definitely doable with good company. The views were 100% worth it too. I was advised to do this by frequent Yosemite visitors as they believe the view rivals Half Dome hike as...More

Beautiful views of Half Dome. Not a bad hike to Cloud's Rest to get gorgeous scenery and views. Many photo ops here.

Cloud's rest is a training route before Half dome hike. But it was impressive nonetheless. It was not as tiring as Half Dome. The scenery was good at the end, but not too impressive along the way. the drive up from the valley was long...More

First off, the views from Clouds Rest are out-of-this-world. They're like nothing I've seen anywhere else (and I've hiked a lot!); so beautiful of myriads of granite domes, snowy Sierra peaks, Half Dome, Yosemite Valley, waterfalls, lakes, and so much more! Second, you will have...More

The hike to Cloud's Rest from Tenaya Lake is an excellent one, and the views from Clouds rest are amazing (unless there is smoke from forest fires). Having just done this as part of a 5 day backpack trip, I have to say that we...More

Hi Heather I recommend that you post this question on the Yosemite forum page. I don't know if the seasonal sources of water are available this late in the season, but posting on the forum means that more folks will see... More
