My wife and I hiked only to the lower falls, about 40 minutes round trip, but these had a lovely pool which some people were basking in. The walk to the lower falls is reasonably easy, enjoyable, but it gets more difficult afterwards. The best...More

We spent a week in the park and this was by far our favorite. As others have said it is not crowded and very beautiful. The first set of falls were only about 1/4 mile in and so we brought our kids back later in...More

To be honest, at times we were not positive which Falls we were seeing without consulting our map. Be careful parking in the small area before the hike to Chilualna. Our car bottomed out badly in the parking spot.

This hike, close to the Wawona area of the southern end of Yosemite, is a wonderful day hike. It is steep and there can be a lot of bugs, but if you get started early, you will have the hike and falls mostly to yourself....More

The lower fall were easily reached and masses of water was pouring down them - quite spectacular. We walked on and up to the upper falls through interesting woodland but turned back when we got into the cold mist.

I don't think the Wawona Stable offers the long ride to Upper Chilnualna Fall this year. There are just shorter two hour trail rides. Call the stable staff directly to ask.
