Many interesting stories, frequent stops for photos. Bring binoculars to see the climbers. History and references to more information as well as recommendations for what else to see if you have more time. We heard about the Mariposa Grove from the guide.

You have to go to the Valley if you are in the area. I cannot walk and they had a few handicap accessible trails which was so wonderful. There is a 2 hour bus tour that gives you all the high points, geology and history....More

While the Yosemite Valley Floor Tour was rather pricey, Ranger Cindy was a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. It was great to ride in the open-air tram. The tour stops at tunnel view and valley view, and goes for 2 hours in total.

This is the very best way to see the valley and all the best view points on an open trailer with a very informative Park Ranger giving a full and interesting commentary for the whole 2 hour tour. Ranger Cindy was excellent.

This is all done in an open-air bus, so good weather is a must for a pleasurable ride. They stop at most of the main attraction sites so you can take photos. Other places are mentioned so you at least know what they are. The...More

It depends on how fast you can get to your hotel and if you can get early check in. I got to my hotel didn't have early check in so I drop my bags off (which most hotels hold your bags) and went to go get something for... More

I called the park in advance and booked a few tours. Try calling 209-372-0200. If you are going in prime season then you need to book early

We will be visiting Yosemite from Australia in early June and want to do the Yosemite Valley floor tour.. Can anyone tell me if they book out quickly, and do the tours run throughout the day. There is only a telephone number to book, so I am going to wait till in the USA, but we do not want to miss out Thanks for any info Linda

Last year from about May through middle of Augst, every Valley Floor Tour except sometimes the twilight tour was selling out each day by about mid morning. This may change this year as the waterfalls will not be anywhere near as spectacular as last year. People were able to get tickets a day in advance, generally without issue. Usually 10-3 every hour plus a twilight tour running around 5:30 or 6 depending on time of year. Good luck!

What to see in 6 hours? (10 Replies)
Hi all! I will be in Yosemite this Sunday, Sep 22 for about 6 hours. I will be driving from SF and expect to be at Yosemite around 10.30-11am and will have to leave the park around 5pm. Some of you have already recommended a couple of things to see like Glacier Point and Tunnel View...but it is my understanding that Glacier Point is another 2 hour drive away from SF, right? Also, on Yosemite website I can see a 2 hours Yosemite Valley Floor tour by bus which looks interesting as well. ...More

Glacier Point is a one hour drive ... each way. So it's not 2 more hours from SF but would add 2 additional hours of driving. I wouldn't want to sit on a tour after sitting in a car for 4 hours and knowing I'll be in the car for 4 more hours, but that's me. I don't know if you'd like to sit. Read through the Day Trips in the "Yosemite National Park trip ideas" on the right. Do you want a long day hike? A few strolls? Are you interested in renting bikes? Do you want to hike/walk...More
