This is a moderately difficult short hike - 3.5 mile lollipop - best taken earlier in the day for more solitude. There is a fabulous view of the lake from the summit although you get glimpses of it on the way up as well. The...More

We arrived early in the morning and had the trail to ourselves. It took about 3 hours round trip and there were some areas that were steep and narrow. I would not recommend this climb for young children because of the narrow ledges. It was...More

We started this around 8.30am and although there a few other people on it it was relatively quiet. A fairly consistent gradient and climb to the top and there is a small loop that can be done which is always more interesting than out and...More

If heights are not your thing, you probably need to skip this activity. It was quite a drudging hike, but not unbearable. Make sure you take bear spray and be aware of your surroundings.

This trail starts from a small pull off near the Lake Hotel. It is a reasonable 4 mile hike but does feature a significant elevation change (how else can you get the outstanding view of the lake). The only caveat is that the trail up...More

Elephant Back Mountain is a 4 mile lollipop loop trail off the main Park Loop Road. The parking area is just 2 pulloffs on either side of the road, .5 miles North of the Lake Village road. It has nothing to do with Mammoth. This...More

This is found in the upper terrace where you can find these almost smaller duplicates of Mammoth Hot Springs. Easy to tour as you can drive around it.
