The view around the lake is beautiful. It's easy to spot wildlife here. The hotel is beautiful and nice to at least walk through if you are not staying there. We ate dinner in the Lake Hotel Dining Room and it was by far the best meal that we ate in Yellowstone. Just be sure to make reservations.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabins. I was a bit nervous at first to stay in a cabin but it was well maintained and very comfortable. There was even a bison hanging around another cabin! The view of Yellowstone lake was very nice and the rocking chairs on the porch of hotel were fun.

lake village has more than just cabins for rent, they also have a small store, visitor center and best of all a place where you can take a shower. The shower stalls have a place where you can dress and undress in private that is separate from the shower area, they also provide shampoo to wash your hair with and best of all the showers were clean. come early in the morning and there will not be a wait, not sure after 8am and if you need to do laundry they have washers and dryers that you can use.
It was good to get clean again
The Good: Very nice shower area that was surprisingly clean
the Bad: with only limited shower stalls, a wait could be long depending on how many people want to take a shower
The ugly: the parking lot especially when people in motor homes or pulling trailers do not obey the parking signs and cause a major blockage.
On the scuba bubble scale of 1 to 10 I give this place 7 bubbles.... It felt so good to get clean again.

The hotel itself is beautiful. It overlooks the lake and the bar has a cozy seating area to take in the views while you drink your cocktails.

We stayed in a cabin while there. The cabins are located adjacent to the parking lot and behind the hotel; with no view of the lake. The cabins are close to each other and you feel a bit ‘on display’ with the curtains open since the windows face each other...which is a bit odd to me being in a National Park. The cabins are larger than the ones at Old Faithful Inn. They also came with a coffee maker and Tazo Tea. The beds were comfortable enough.

My biggest issue with the place has to do with the dining room. We planned our trip nearly a year in advance and yet we could only secure dinner reservations for one night. We stayed at multiple places throughout the park on our 10-day trip and Lake Village was our last stop. Our experience with the other venues at Old Faithful and Canyon Lodge was to show up early (4:45pm) and get on a waitlist for dinner if we didn’t have reservations ahead of time. By the way, if you don’t have reservations they will all tell you the earliest reservation is 9:40pm...DO NOT TAKE IT! We found the food cold, dried out and inedible the later you dined. We observed others send their meals back for being lukewarm. Our first night at Lake Village, we arrived at about 5:30pm without reservations and asked to be put on the waitlist for 2 people. We were told it would be a 2 hour wait and we were okay with that. We sat in the bar and had a couple drinks while overlooking the lake. After 2.5 hours, I checked in with the hostess for an update. What would have started this debacle off a bit better was to have the hostess page US with an update seeing we had gone over the quoted time (they note the time you check in and the wait) rather than me having to check in again. I was told there was only one other party ahead of us so it shouldn’t be much longer. 3 hours later (an hour longer than our original quote time), I again check in with the hostess. Again, I was told there was another party ahead of us. I asked what the realistic wait time would be and was told I had to wait for the head hostess to return to talk to me. The head hostess told me she wasn’t sure but the very best she could do was “maybe 15 minutes, maybe, but the priority is given to reservations”. This would have put us sitting down after 9pm for dinner. We were told we had to stay in the lobby while we waited otherwise our pager wouldn’t work. We were held hostage for 3.5 hours waiting to be seated. I expressed that I was upset that they were so wrong in their wait times and had I known it would have been so long, we would have made other arrangements. The head hostesses response to me was, “It happens.” As other reviewers have noted, your dining options are limited and now that it was so late we were forced to wait it out and pay for an expensive dinner which we were too tired to enjoy and as our prior experience from the other restaurants, likely wouldn’t have been as fresh so late in the evening or just retire to our cabin without dinner. We left without eating and feeling quite grumpy.

We had reservations for the next night and my husband and I debated about whether or not eating dinner there since we felt we were treated poorly and totally disregarded. However, we decided to give it a go since we had made the reservation so long before. We were seated immediately this time (it pays to have a reservation). The head hostess from the night prior saw me in the dining room and gave me a snotty smirk. This was unbelievable to me and again I almost walked out. However, our waitress came over and was very kind and helpful. We ordered and our food was delicious (the best in the park). Luckily, our experience was good. However, I am still appalled at how broken their system is for their dining room and how rudely they treat their paying guests. If their system is to reserve the dining room at 100% capacity, don’t start a waitlist. This process needs to be reviewed by management. I did leave a review card and hope it’s taken to heart.

Located directly on Lake Yellowstone, this area was so much more peaceful than the hustle and bustle of the Old Faithful and Mammoth areas. The hotel has recently been restored with historical accuracy, there are cabins, and a nice shop there as well. Its more centrally located as well. When we return to Yellowstone in the next couple of years, this is most definitely where we'll stay.

My family and I drove to Lake Village from Old Faithful to have dinner and see a sunset. The hotel sits overlooking Lake Yellowstone. The lobby area is very nice with plenty of seats and couches to sit on. They had a string quartet playing live when we went and it was a very nice and relaxing experience while we waited for dinner in the main dining room. I believe the hotel was the first one build in Yellowstone National Park. We also drove down to the lodge and cabin areas which offer some nice little walking paths to the water. Can get buggy in the evening, but the view was amazing.

Probably anything after the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is likely to be o.k. lol. We stopped and walked out to the bridge but we personally did not find this a significant attraction.

After going to some of the other visiting centers inside Yellowside National Park this one was a little disappointing. It's small and needs a upgrade. Also there is road work going on in the area and will cause some delays.

it closed at 7pm in summer time, which is longer than some other visitor centers in the park, there are some exhibits inside the visitor center, e.g. showing several birds and their eggs, it's good to take a look if you are in that area.
