A regular performer and a spectacular spout going vigorously for a long time--up to an hour. Check the schedule.

Don't miss a single pull off at Yellowstone National Park as the pandemic is here and you are not allowed to do much else.

A bit of a hike on the boardwalk
Aug 2020
A bit of a hike on the boardwalk. Quite a few benches to sit on. The eruption prediction window is not very specific. Very large cone, bubbles and sputters all the time.

When it goes off it does not disappoint!
Jul 2020
This lovely geyser is just west of Old Faithful, within a short little hike down the hill. When it erupts, it has a continuous activity for several minutes. It has an unusual mineral buildup around the opening, hence the castle-like formation, and its name. This is a delightful geyser, and well worth checking to see what its activity is expected to be whilst visiting Old Faithful.

Our favorite!

We got to see it at work for a while. Very powerful eruption, showering surrounding area with a mist and creating rainbows to decorate the area even farther. Very impressive experience!

Worth the walk to see this unique geyser
Jul 2020 • Family
This geyser is unique and interesting to see. Worth the walk around Upper Geyser Basin after seeing Old Faithful.

worth the walk to it
Jun 2020
This was actually a very impressive geyser with many good viewing areas. It erupted for a long time and we were able to take a selfie with it. It was more impressive than Old Faithful and very loud! Seek this one out! It is wheel chair accessible.

this geyser has a huge cone
Aug 2019
This geyser is right off the macadam road and is predicted by the visitor center and worth the wait. It is a cone geyser like Old Faithful but you can get nearer to it and if the wind is right, you could get a geyser shower. The cone is huge so this geyser is very old to have accumulated so much sinter. It is said to resemble the ruins of an old castle. First it erupts then that is followed by a steam phase which is loud! If there are geyser gazers near, wait, if there is a ranger there, eruption is near. There are benches so wait for it, you're on geyser time.

Quite a show
Sep 2019
We were treated to quite a show one morning when we were outside watching Old Faithful go off and Castle Geyser started to erupt as well. Very intriquing seeing two geysers so close to each other erupting at the same time.

Same Area as Old Faithful
Jun 2019
Castle Geyser is a short walk (approx 1/2 mile) from Old Faithful Visitor Center. It can be reached via the boardwalk system or the paved bike trail. Check the eruption schedule at the visitor center or there may be one listed at the geyser itself. There is also a free app that you can download that has a lot of the geysers.
