The world's largest natural warm water indoor swimming pool. *NOT A HOT WATER SPRING* The town is named Hot Springs, but Evans Plunge Mineral Springs itself has never claimed to be any hotter than it is, which is consistently 87 degrees year-round, the Lakota called it "Minnekahta" meaning "warm water." 5,000 gallons of water flow from the mineral springs every hour, completely refreshing the water in the pool numerous times every day. Evans Plunge Mineral Springs opened in 1890 and is the oldest attraction in the Black Hills. Currently owned & operated by the City of Hot Springs, Evans Plunge is proud to be open year round and offers both an indoor and an outdoor pool, plus a health club, which is included with admission!

This is a very run down facility. We came here 13 years ago and it doesn't look to have had any upkeep since our second visit in July of 2015. The water is not warm as you would expect, about a typical pool temp, my kids were freezing by the time we left. They do have water slides and they... More

After a long day traveling we hit the pool. The history of the pool makes up for it being a little rough around the edges. The slides are pretty fast and it was great to lie out in the sun. We did not try the spa but it looked good. If you're in the area it's a must!

I checked out Evans Plunge with my mom and toddler while staying in Hot Springs, SD. We were glad that we had stopped. The fees were...10 dollars for adults, 9 dollars for seniors age 62 and up, and toddlers were free. The health club was also free for seniors. Yes, the water temperature was that of a warm swimming pool,... More

Evan's Plunge was a wonderful relief from our travels. We stopped in Hot Springs specifically for Evan's Plunge. Although the facility inside looks a bit dated we had a blast in the naturally warm water. My husband successfully triumphed over the rings across the pool. The pool has a smooth rock bottom which is different. There was the slide, basketball,... More

My I went with my mother and 6-year-old daughter on the 4th of July, and we had a blast. The last time I had taken my daughter was when she was 1. She also enjoyed that visit, but this time she could do the waterslides. This was her first time on a waterslide. She did the inside slide first a... More

We were drawn by the novelty, of a mineral water pool, especially after a long day of driving. The pool was nice, but the changing area and bathrooms looked run down. The customer service was nonexistent. Employees seemed more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers. When I asked where the changing room was the employee was a... More
