The newly renovated visitor's center is very interesting. They have collected many hundreds of artifacts from the civil war and they are beautifully displayed. The land has been carefully protected in order to maintain the authenticity of the time period, so that you can almost...More

Wilson's Creek is a very well maintained national park site in southwestern Missouri. It's a short drive south of Springfield and well worth the visit if you are in the area. This was the first battle in Missouri and, even though the Union Army lost,...More

We have 5 kids and really like seeing history and the National parks. Some hiking if you want to hike. 4.5 miles around the circle before you get to the front. Bike trail and walking or running on that same one way road

For the history buff it is a really nice place to visit. For the hiker and biker you will love the peacefulness of the country side. Pleasant 1.5 hour stop if in the area to share in the history of MO during the civil war.
