OTR is a nice place to go during the day due to the myriad of small bars and restaurants and relaxed atmosphere. It is walkable and close to downtown. I felt really unsafe there during early evening, however, and would not recommend anyone to walk around after sunset.

Absolutely loved spending some time walking around the neighborhood! The architecture is great and the art on the buildings is so much fun to look at. Lots to do in the area - parks, markets, restaurants, bars, etc. The Cincinnati Bell runs through the neighborhood too, so easy access. Definitely an interesting neighborhood that's actively going through renovations/gentrification. Absolutely worth your time to visit!

this area in the 80's when i was in school....was not very nice. it is growing, it is clean. it is a mix of new and old. many buildings are being rehabbed, lots of paintings on the buildings. small businesses are starting up. the area from 12th street (washington park) on north to findley market is great...take a stroll....enjoy the old buildings and the new influx of people and ideas.

The "new" Over-the-Rhine in some areas. We went to OTR to have lunch and ended up at The Eagle which was outstanding. Our first time at The Eagle and the first time in many years since we've been top OTR since we move to FL.

Crowded streets, loud trucks, loud cars, loud cars with loud stereos.

We experienced this neighborhood while visiting Findlay Market. The area has undergone extensive renovation and preserving it's historic and architectural character. There are some areas still being renovated, but there are lots of shops, restaurants, and sights to see. Visit Findlay Market on the north side and the Music Hall/Washington Park on the south side.

I really enjoyed walking around this area of town. Lots of great restaurants, bars and shops. TQL stadium is nearby. The neighborhood is still transitioning. Still somewhat gritty giving it some authenticity but mostly gentrified and certainly, a hipster part of town. Taft Alehouse is a unique place to eat and drink and Milton's Prospect Hill Tavern is an authentic neighborhood watering hole to experience. B&A Street Kitchen served up some outstanding breakfasts.

I love Cincinnati and I hate to write this. My wife and I read great things about OTR - our experience was just miserable.

Maybe COVID caused a lot of small businesses to close - who knows - but there were dozens of empty stores - the streets around Findlay Market were over run with gang members, homeless people, there was open evidence of illegal activity in broad daylight

After our “walk” around the market we decided to drive over to Vine and Main - we never made a single stop - again many stores closed and lots of people who are, clearly not representatives of the local chamber of commerce all over the sidewalk

My advice - unless and until stores return in mass this area is not want it, obviously, once was do not rely on older reviews and articles

The friendly local we met on the street gave us a quick run down on Cincinnati and advised us what to see. One of his good ones was OTR and he explained in length the reason behind the district name. Short story is that it's a great area of change with bars, cafes, restaurants and some great street art plus renovated buildings and a nice place to wander around for an hour or two on a cold but clear Sunday ! Cincinnati was a great surprise package !

I went to this place alone. OTR is a long street having historic buildings with contemporary cafes and shops. It is a very vibrant and safe place, but if you somehow go away a bit more, or try to walk in streets parallel to OTR, then what I saw was black guys looking like drug dealers standing each corner and trying to speak with you disturbingly. I walked in other streets by mistake while trying to find OTR and that’s what I experienced and felt very unsafe.

I had read about the OTR neighborhood and Findlay Market prior to coming to Cincinnati so I made it a point to visit this past Saturday. I easily found parking a block away from Findlay and walked through the market. It's pretty small but the food offerings looked amazing! There were huge racks of ribs, cheese, seafood, deli meats, fresh cut fruit, and drinks. There's a beer garden outside and retail booths along one side. I was surprised there weren't more shops open on the streets surrounding, though, but the area still seems to be in transition. I ducked into Rhinegeist Brewery and found a whole world on the top floor of an industrial building, with two bars, a food concession, and a merch booth. There were games, such as cornhole, and picnic table seating. I heard there also is a rooftop bar but I never made it up there. Later, for dinner, I went to Taft's and had an amazing tri-tip salad and their own beer. Yummy! It's in a cool historic building from 1850 that had been a church. I then walked over to Washington Park and got a good look at the Cincinnati Music Hall, a massive historic structure. It's absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood has a huge number of historic homes dating back to the 1800's. It was fun walking around. I had a fabulous afternoon and evening in OTR!
