Fruit beer / sours heaven
Jul 2020 • Friends
This is a fruit beer / sours microbrewery that specializes and does it at the top tier. If looking for other style then this is not the place. They do have 1 guest tap lager. Cool church setup with seating inside and park like outside seating with shade and breeze at times. Staff was very informative and friendly. No flights available but can get samples. If fruit beer fan or want to explore that style come here. The range in flavor, style and heavyness as in some being wine like but beer. Food truck to meet snack or hunger needs. A great stop and will go again. Just go and try them as the variety and flavor is impressive.

Horrible entrance ramp for handicapped. Very unsafe, question legality. Only grandchilds marriage, had to be there.
Had to have large men carry practically me up in wheelchair and going out very dangerous and scary. She was
told at booking there would be an elevator by recception time.

Excellent sours
Nov 2019
My husband and I stopped in here while visiting the area for the weekend. We were very happy with the selection and quality of the beers. It was a quieter day since it was a Friday afternoon. The space is interesting being in a church although the bar area is in the basement/first level so it doesn't seem too weird. Definitely a great stop for anyone who enjoys sours!

Sour ales with pizza next door
Sep 2019
Met family after an event and was pleasantly surprised at the sours they had. Nothing outlandish, but good, with some twists. In the basement of an old church building.
Hungry? At the bar you can order a pizza from Wildfire Pizza next door.

I had such high hopes
Sep 2019 • Couples
I have been wanting to visit here for a while and I have to say I was pretty disappointed as far as a brewery experience. The beers when we went were so so, I live sours and they cater to that but they just weren’t some of their best when we went. Service was super friendly and fast. The flight board designs are horrible, the flights can easily slide out as there is nothing to stop them. I was so excited to see a brewery in an old church but it just didn’t feel big or grand on the inside.
I will still continue to buy their beers but wouldn’t go back to their brewery. It was also very crowded and not much space to sprawl out like there is at other breweries .

Hipster vibe, catering to the sour beer crowd
Aug 2019 • Friends
I'm a bit conflicted about how to rate this place. It's got a cool vibe and interesting location in the basement of an old church. But it's way off the beaten path and is almost exclusively sours, which are not my thing.

Objectively, the beers were well-produced. Tart and bursting with flavor. Very fruity, but reminded me of a mimosa. Is there such thing as a breakfast beer?

If they had a larger selection of styles I definitely be back. If sours are your thing, you'll love the place.

Great vibe
Dec 2018 • Couples
We really like this place and feel like I had a great vibe. It had a lot of fruity and sour beers And some good ciders. There was a Christmas market when we were here and It have some really great vendors and food trucks. It was really nice and not horribly far from downtown. We just got an Uber over there in a few minutes. If you’re looking for a cool place to hang out have some beers we would recommend Urban Artifact. It will be a go to if were in town.

Something Different
Oct 2018 • Couples
UA is a quirky, unique little microbrewery in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati that has received consistently good reviews since they opened - I can see why..
First, its in the basement of a church - not that I haven't had a beer in a church basement before, this is a nice rehabbing and usage of an under used facility and not that unusual in that Taft's downtown utilizes an abandoned church and Wiedemann's in St. Bernard uses an old funeral home.
Second, they brew only "sour" beer. Never having heard of it, I found it different but not as bad as expected. The "sour" was more an edge to the brew that anything that would make someone pucker. For me it would still be an acquired taste. Try it and find out for yourself
Third, the atmosphere was really laid back and enjoyable, the staff equally laid back and pleasant - there was even free candy on the tables being just before Halloween, plus they were running an hourly free candy contest, the winner being whomever could guess the number in the container. This was a younger, more esoteric, but less raucous crowd with some older folks like us that made for a really enjoyable mix. A brew tour came in just as we were leaving. Really enjoyed being there.
Definitely worth the stop.

What a Cool Place With a Neat Vibe
Sep 2018 • Solo
I hit up Urban Artifact for a comedy open mic on a recent trip through Cincinnati. Even though Google Maps was less than helpful in finding the place, once I figured out where it was and how to enter, I was really enamored. Tucked away in an old church, there's a really neat, hip vibe to the place. The bar area is sizable and the showroom adjacent to the bar is cool with good sound, a nice-sized stage and decent seating. The bartender working when I was there was friendly and the weird sour beer I had was tasty. If I lived in Cincinnati, I'd surely go back.

Nice brewery
Sep 2018
A brewery in an old church. Urban Artifact specializes in sour beers but don’t let that scare you away. I think they have some of the best beers in the Cincy area. Well blended, refreshing beers. They have plenty of seating with board games available if you want to sit and relax with friends.
