This is apparently a fairly recent project, since we didn’t see it when we visited the city about fifteen years ago. There is a splendid view of and across the broad and placid Ohio river that goes on for quite a ways since the park is fairly long. There are numerous ornamental plants, large swing/benches facing the river, play equipment for children, bathrooms, picnic tables. The park is very clean and quite well-tended. We paid seven dollars for an hour and a half of parking across the street, but as others have mentioned there is free parking nearby if you have time to look for it (we didn’t).

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 5:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. There was a large parking lot in front of the park but it was quite expensive, so we decided to park at a parking lot across the bridge in Kentucky. The park was quite big and contained a ton of green space to roam around on. On the day that we went, there were plenty of vendors out and about, selling items from food to clothing. The park was right next to the Riverwalk and the Roebling Suspension Bridge. We were able to see sweeping views of both Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky, along with the Ohio River. Tip: I recommend spending 30 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

Green space along the Ohio River offering nice views of the river and of the John A Roebling Suspension Bridge. The bridge was built in 1866 by John A Roebling who was the same architect of the Brooklyn Bridge which opened 20 years later. It was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening. The park is flanked on each side by the Bengals stadium on one end and The Cincinnati Reds stadium on the other.

What a fun and scenic area to explore while visiting Cincinnati and the riverwalk. There are swings to enjoy, play areas to explore, a nice walkway along the river with a closeup view of the bridge, and even a light show at the fountain steps! A very creative and thoughtful design. We visited in the evening so parking was easy, no crowds, and just a nice place to be outside.

This park is absolutely beautiful! There are many things to see! We didn't walk very far unfortunately because it was quite chilly and breezy the day we visited, but the swings along the river were so much fun and the flying pig was a must-do!
The Roebling Bridge is also beautiful! We walked across it into Covington for dinner. Highly Recommend!
Parking garages line the opposite side of the street from the park and we paid about $9 for around 2+ hours there.

We went to visit Smale Park because people have been saying great things about it. Definitely worth the visit. We went during July 4th weekend so there were not a lot of people. Parking was free as well that day. The park has a labyrinth which our kids found interesting. There are a number of things to do there as well including a giant keyboard where you step on the note and it makes sound. There are also activities that are educational as well as fun such as a rope walk, slides, and activities where water is involved. A recommendation is to bring a towel when visiting.

The flowers were nice, but it would be even more beautiful when visiting during the spring. We also like the swings which you can sit on while overlooking the Ohio River. Definitely plan on coming back.

This park has so much to offer! Swings overlooking the Ohio River, a garden maze, climbing things for kids, water features. It is in the center of things - The Great American Ballpark, a Carousel, Morelein House Restaurant which overlooks the park and the river. So many features, this park is great for adults and children!

I go as often as I can and take the kids, who LOVE the park.

There were lots of little kids and it looks to be popular with little kids and teenagers. Beautiful place to walk along the river and enjoy the views of the river and the stadiums. All cities should have a beautiful place like this. They have swings and a playground.

Very nice area in the city. This is an active area, couples and families walking the river walk, swinging on the swings, laying in the grass, riding bikes, exercising, kids playing in the splash area. It was clean and a well maintained area with nice gardens too.

OK, the GPS took me to the entrance which requires a $5 credit card payment for parking. Really? Fortunately I was able to back out and find a spot nearby on Pete Rose Way for free. It’s a small park that’s pleasant enough but certainly not worth the cost for parking. There was nothing of note going on and I spent perhaps 15 minutes walking around. By the same token I could park for free across the river at the small park in Bellevue, Kentucky with a view of Cincinnati. It’s OK but not worth the $5 parking fee.

I'm slowly getting back into being active. My chosen method is walking. This is the FLATEST part of Cincinnati, which I just LOVE. There are LOTS of trees and grassy areas. This also works for small beerfests. LOL

We parked near the stadium ($5) and walked all through the park. We ended up going all the way down to the Purple People Bridge. Including dinner at Moerlein's, I think we spent about two and a half hours on the waterfront. Due to COVID-19, all of the water features and water fountains were shut off, which was a bummer because it was hot out. The swings are super relaxing.

This part was much bigger than I expected. There is a path that goes along the edge of the river, there is a small rose garden area, a large playground, and even some large adult-sized swings that overlook the river. I was there on a Thursday afternoon; it was quite and very peaceful.

What a nice place to visit. Parking was easy downtown and lots to do while there. Ball park, river walk, bridge walks, Graeter’s ice cream, aquarium, swings, dinner, shopping… a whole day. Pick a day warm enough to be outside and the family should have a blast.
