I was on my way back to Indianapolis from a business trip and my GPS took me through and area called "Mount Lookout" which got me thinking "I wonder if there's a lookout?" hmmm... so then I end up on a street (again GPS) called...More

We went for an after hours event. Lots of large telescopes out to view Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. We also waited in a LONG line to see Saturn in the observatory using the oldest telescope in the United States.

Educational and pleasant tour. $ 5 admission is a great value . Excellent resource for historic and scientific material. Be sure to see the clock room. See the 1840 telescope and the 1904 also still in use both working with extreme accuracy. Also ask to...More

We enjoyed the lecture and the tour. The view through the telescope was cool. The history of the observatory was fascinating too. We really enjoyed the impromptu viewing from the groups outside. It was a great date night.

They did an awesome job of conducting the tours of the two buildings. We were able to see the sun through a filtered telescope. The guides were great. Takes about an hour.
