    Get in the right lane!
We love the light show and we go almost every year. The lights are spectacular. We know to expect a long wait, especially if you go on a weekend. This year however, we got in the wrong lane. The right lane moved at least twice as fast, if not faster, from the moment we entered the staging area. If you go avoid getting in the left lane. When we paid admission we realized why. The right lane splits when you pay allowing more cars to go through twice as fast. We arrived at least 90 minutrs before the gates were supposed to close and we were one of the last cars to leave at 11:45. Otherwise, it is great and safe holiday fun.

    Christmas Lights
Great Christmas lights display. We arrived early nd sat in parking lot about 40 minutes. Lights turned on at 5:30 took about 45 minutes to drive through. The lights were great and would go back again. It cost $7.00 a person to get in. There are port potty in parking lot while you are waiting. They do see hot chocolate water and a few other refreshments or you could bring snacks while you wait. Thus is one of the best light displays we have seen

    Allow 2 hrs
We thought we’d run through this in quickly. Wrong. Glad we had nothing else to do tonight because this took the entire evening. I will say, at $7/person, you will get one of the longest light shows in the US. 1/2 way thru the line, you’ll be offered cotton candy for $3, hot cocoa for $2, Carmel corn for $3. There are outhouses along the route in the parking lot.

Removing your rides, a BIG MISTAKE!
This park has such a great history in the amusement park industry. It closed for a brief time because flooding forced management to build a bigger park (Kings Island) away from the Ohio River, and like a phoenix, the park arose again. People returned to a much smaller park. Rides were added across from the Sunlite Pool. Coney was alive and well again. I always made a point to visit here every two or three years. At the end of the 2019, management announced that the mechanical rides were being removed. What?? I am not a big water park or swimming pool person. I went to Coney for the dry rides. Management claims that a survey was sent out, and those responding said they only wanted water attractions. The management team has been putting in newer rides and attractions over the years, and the park was growing. It was always crowded, and the DRY rides always had lines. I don't get it. Now, I have NO reason to go back to the park. I think they will find our the hard way this is a BAD idea. Not everyone wants water park. Coney Island management, you are ruining a good thing. I will NOT be back without mechanical rides. Sorry. I wish you the best, but I am afraid within a couple years you will join the list of other amusement parks that have closed. You still can change your minds, but you probably won't. So sad......

    Proud Americans Breathing Fumes
The light show itself was technically good. As in, whoever coordinated the lights with the music, did a good job. However, I was really thrown off by the intense patriotism of the whole thing. If watching red, white, and blue lights flash along to “I’m Proud to be an American” while breathing the exhaust fumes of your fellow USA denizens sounds like a fun way to celebrate the holidays, then you’ll like this show. After 20 minutes or so of slowly snaking through the lights and listening to the least creative Disney and America First songs , finally they played a song (Carol of the Bells) worth watching the lights dance to, as the song is quite energetic and, well, good. $7 a person. Gonna say not worth it.

NOT worth the 2 hour wait
We wanted to do a drive through light display and while we expected a wait, this was INSANE! They trick you. You wait on the road and you get to the parking lot and you spend 30+ minutes snaking your way through a packed parking lot only to find you're NOT at the entrance... you're at another area to snake through!!! There is NO WAY OUT!! Once you're in, you're in. Kids bedtime be darned! I want to be clear, we didn't arrive late! We arrived at the parking lot at 6pm (got on the road earlier). We did not even make it to the lights until 8pm! The lights might be nice but NOTHING is worth this! We expected a wait, not a 2 hour wait snaking through a parking lot we were stuck in with no option to choose to leave! The radio station didn't even come in the whole ride through, it got staticky at times! If you want to wait 2 hours, have a kid crying and complaining they want to see lights over and over and smell car exhaust for a few lights, go for it... otherwise, go to Sharon Woods or Land of Illusion because this was Insane!

Wait was not cool but lights were cool
Coney Island needs to improve the traffic flow of this event. Went on a Saturday night and waited 2 hours in line. When you pull into the lot in the very back it is hard to see how far the line really is. They need to put signs out at the entrance stating from that point the wait is 2 hours. If a driver wants to leave they can. Once you go through the maze of cars you are in two lanes, then three lanes, back to two lanes, then at the entrance it’s three lanes and not one traffic person there to guide vehicles in. Everyone is fighting for a spot. This is why the line is so freaking long. If you have kids make sure they eat and use restroom before waiting in line. Definitely bring snacks and a drink. Port potties are towards the front of the line. If in back you will have a walk ahead of you. Watch for kids and adults roaming around trying to find the car they came out of. Once you go in, the music and light show is pretty cool if you can handle it. I can see where people can get sick from it. It’s a 2 mile long attraction and takes about 30 mins. That’s if vehicles in front of you don’t stop. I am from Louisville KY and I don’t think I will come back up for this. I will stick with the zoo or King’s Island.

Coney Island Christmas Nights of Lights
This is the first year that we have gone to the Christmas light display at Coney Island. It was so worth the $6 per person fee. It took about 20 to 30 minutes to drive through it all the while listening to wonderful music timed perfectly with the lights. It was raining when we went but that did not matter since you remain in your car the entire time.

    Terrible.
Don’t do it. We have been sitting in their parking lot for more than an hour and a half. The only lights we have seen are the tail lights of other cars as we go through this impossibly slow line of cars with no way to get out of line. For a similar experience just go sit in rush hour traffic while the kids beg you to go home.

Wait line is not a good thing for young children. Expect 2-3 hours
They really need to warn people about the wait in the line. There’s literally no way to get out of the line once you’re in it and e we were close to the beginning. It was dark for 45 minutes before they even started letting people go through. Two hours and 45 minutes with my 3 year old grand daughter who was so excited to go. She was in tears by the time we got to the entrance. The light show is really cool and she loved it and I’m not sure what they could do to remedy the wait time I just think they should warn people. Poor lady beside me put her car in park and left it sit to take her little one to the porta potty. And to all the A-holes honking thinking it’s going to make the line move faster…Yea. So be forewarned.

We went on a Friday and rented a single cabana. It was nice to have our own space and a little bit of shade. Wish, however, that management hadn't put mulch around the cabanas, as it gets tracked in and out, all over your feet.
The refrigerator in the cabana had not been cleaned/wiped out, so a little gross there. The pool area is large and clean, so for the most part plenty of room to find your spot. The obstacle course looked neat, although our kids didn't try it. The kids enjoyed the water slides and water playground. There was another smaller pool with diving boards. Good food options, but the lines can get a little long at times. The little surf shop with souvenirs etc. is cute. You can let your kids choose a floatie, and they will blow it up for you, which is nice. All in all, a good experience.

I thought the pool was big enough to sustain the amount of people however, it was so cold that it made it unenjoyable. I think it would be a very nice place if not for how cold the water is. I can get over the bugs and large amount of children but the water was just alarmingly cold.

Awful! Horribly run, and a waste of precious time and money. You start your wait half way across the bridge trying to get off at Kellogg. You can see the lights from the bridge, honestly tune your radio, watch from afar and then leave. You spend another 45 minutes from the exit of the highway to the park entrance where you wait ANOTHER 1.5 to 2 hours weaving around the parking lot. Then when you finally get to the lights it’s an underwhelming, overly strobe lit horrific nauseating experience. Don’t waste you time or money. Just don’t.

This synchronized light show is amazing! Be sure to print off the scavenger hunt list from the website before you go. Since the wait line can be long, go early in the season and early in the evening. We arrived at 6:35 pm on Dec 8th, were in the light show by 6:53pm and finished and out by 7:29pm. It was a little misty and drizzly which may have made it less busy. We really enjoyed the Christmas song selections and were amazed at the precise timing and synchronization of music. The show certainly kicked off our holidays and put us in the Christmas spirit!

Don’t go to Coney Island’s Nights of Lights unless you want to induce a seizure from looking at the strobe light hell scape they call a “christmas light show”. The lights were extremely nauseating and there was no way to escape or exit early. This was not pleasant at all. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

I love Christmas lights but politicizing Christmas is an insult. Why is the song “Proud to be be an American” in the show? Red, white and Blue everywhere. I grew up to Christmas being red, white, and green. Don’t get me wrong I am proud to be an American but Christmas is not political. Otherwise the other sections are good fun.

I had my 2 Grandsons (10 and 7 yo) over the holiday wk end and had a wonderful day. Was disappointed that picnic area was no longer close to pool and no shelves to store cooler or basket. There is so much space available so I would like to see formal picnic area returned. Would like to see area near restrooms. Also noted that food lines were long. Please consider the young families w limited income. Thank you for considering.
