This museum is one of the most welcoming places in Cincinnati. Currently it is under renovation to restore the building to its breathtaking beauty, so only the Special Exhibits and Children's museum are open right now. However, it's a place you don't want to miss! If you have to wait until it reopens, to see one of the most monumental... More

The building alone (old train station) with the history is something to see. You can see 3D surround movie, go to the museum and have lunch or bring your lunch. My boys really enjoyed going there as well as it being a place schools go for the history and exhibits that always change.

My wife and I visited the museum especially for the Viking exhibit. The exhibit is well organized and fascinating. It is arranged in thematic, rather than chronological order. Guests visit displays organized around weapons, households, gods, and sailing for example. School children who were visiting seemed to particularly enjoy learning the runic alphabet and spelling their names. The museum is... More

Drive there based on reviewing their website to see the multiple museums. Paid their $6 in parking only to find out that the only two things currently open are the children's museum and a Viking exhibit. We elected not to stay. Frustrating because we specifically went to their website to look up hours, museums and location and it said nothing... More

This is by far the coolest building ever for a museum center. I have been in a lot of museums and they were housed in dedicated buildings but this is an old train station terminal turned into a museum center. Gives it a unique feel. They also have the omnimax theatre which is a really cool domed screen so you... More

The facade is beautiful, but when we visited much of the building was closed and under renovation, but the basement holds the Children's Museum. The museum has lots of hands-on activities for little ones, and is great for young children (but beyond about 8, most kids would probably be bored) with various simple activities and make-believe areas. There's a "store,"... More

I love bring my kids and nephews to the Museum Center. We can take in an IMAX movie, explore the Children's Museum and enjoy this Art Deco marvel of a building.

While I'm sure in its early years the building awash beautiful the lack of attention paid to it's upkeep is ridiculous,

This building alone is a piece of art and history. The rotunda inside is stunning, as are the mosaics. The art deco architecture is evident all throughout the building in big and tiny details. There are several museum options - something for everyone. We chose a temporary DaVinci exhibit for our day, and it was spectacular. But honestly, just the... More
