Should be the FIRST stop on everyone's list!
Aug 2021
This was a wonderful experience and a pleasant surprise. I would recommend everyone plan on making this their first stop, especially if you are new to wines and wine tasting. It is a small tasting room connected to the viticulture program of Walla Walla community college. The teaching staff and/or students provide the tasting experience and they are excited to share their knowledge. All the wines you taste are produced right there at the college, so they change greatly every year based on the students in the program. If there is a certain type of wine prefer, ask and they will provide you the name of local wineries producing those wines for you to go visit. Everyone in our group purchased wine here. We ALL enjoyed the experience.

The location is a bit industrial. On the other side of the freeway from the airport wineries. But not out of the way if you are heading to the airport wineries tasting area. The tasting is only $10 and waived if you purchase a bottle. They allowed us to taste other wines than just what was on the tasting menu. There are nice restrooms.

Thank you! We have a truly wonderful mix of students and customers who add to an atmosphere focused on learning and wine. We appreciate you supporting our students. I hope and expect you will enjoy their wines here and throughout their careers. Next time you visit we can point you to many wineries owned or employing our graduates. Cheers!

Must experience

Wine makers pay attention. The person you choose to educate your patrons is as important as the wine you’re serving. Nicole was our educator/server and was one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining hosts we encountered in our weekend wine trip to Walla Walla. The college is a different experience and one you should not miss if you are a wine enthusiast.

Thank you for your review. All of our tasting room staff are students in the Wine Studies program at Walla Walla Community College. They are involved in every step of the winemaking process, from vineyard to glass, and are very excited to share what they are learning.

Great customer service. Nicole was very engaging and informing our group about wine in a non elitist, fun way. Our group bough a few bottles from our tasting! A great value for the experience and the bottles.

Love the college student atmosphere. Great programs. Sparkler Riesling chard rose Malbec and petit Verdot. All staffed by students. 5$ refundable tasting fee. Great service abs good value wines to go with the heavy hitters that you save for special occasions. Worth your time.

This was a recommendation from another winery. We were blown away by the quality of both red and whites. The Sauvignon Blanc was mind blowing. The sparkling rose was one my husband who never likes sparkling wines loved it. You will be so happy!!!

Student Wine for Scholars of Oenology
Dec 2019
Walla Walla college serves its entire region by offering courses in the cultivation of vines, the harvesting of grapes, and most importantly, the making of wines. The product of students' annual projects are bottled and available for sale at the College Cellars. We especially enjoy Scholarship Red. Conflict of Interest Disclaimer:
my brother-in-law is Dean of Students, but I receive nothing, not even a discount, for this review. The wine is really quite decent and a competitive value.

Tasting room in Walla Walla not to be missed. Many of the state's best wine makers got their start at College Cellars. The tasting room is run by the students and offers wines recently introduced by those same students. Very nice wines, many of which have received awards, at very reasonable prices. It's very enlightening to speak with the students who are very passionate about their work.
