Great Merlot!

We went to the Grand Teton's and had a vernice dinner at the Mural Room in the Jackson Lake lodge and ordered a Merlot from Canoe Ridge without knowing anything about it. Then on... read more

Canoe Ridge has some very good wines. The winery is almost within walking distance from downtown Walla Walla (For European readers: It is only 2 km). Worth a visit and the sampling fee. Enjoy!

We went to the Grand Teton's and had a vernice dinner at the Mural Room in the Jackson Lake lodge and ordered a Merlot from Canoe Ridge without knowing anything about it. Then on our way home we stopped in Walla Walla, Washington and went to the Canoe Ridge tasting room. Of course we had to sample the Merlot (again)... More

My wife and I enjoy Canoe Ridge wine, and have over the years grown fond of a number of their selections. We were excited to finally have the opportunity to visit their Vineyard wine tasting room in Walla Walla last Saturday night. We had the day planned to visit the downtown tasting rooms and then go to Canoe Ridge and... More

We had a great visit today with John. He was very knowledgeable and was a gracious host. The wine was superb! We bought a case...and then some. And what a cool old building! an old trolly garage. Very cool! John even opened up a barrel for us to check out the chardonnay in process. We are now members. Thanks

We had a great time visiting and tasting with John. We enjoyed a wide variety of wine from Pinot Gris to Estate Cabernet. John shared information about wine making, regional vineyards and Walla Walla generally. We spent over an hour at the tasting room and had a case of well-priced wine shipped home. We had fun!

First came here about 20 years ago. Met interesting people in tasting room. Merlot always good. A rhone blend impressed me. Lots of interesting magnums. A friend was unhappy that he found a magnum bottle he wanted with a price tag on it which the person in charge declined to sell. Not sure what to say about that. Will be... More

Being new to the area we had a little trouble finding Canoe Ridge. John Klein made us forget that we had been lost immediately. We have wine tasted in various regions, but this tasting stands out as one of our best. Canoe Ridge makes nice wines, but having the right person explaining those wines is just as important. We left... More

One of the better wines for the money that you will find, either in Washington, Oregon, or California. It's small and we were the only ones there so we got full attention and a little extra tour of the facility. I look forward to a return trip.

Canoe Ridge was a great stop on our tour through Washington Wine Country. The tasting room building originally was the town's streetcar and train facility. The train tracks still run through the back of the building! All the brick and gives the winery a rustic cozy feeling. And of course the wines are excellent! The winery recently launched new wines... This doesn't offer the expansive visitor's center, but the winery offers great wine at a reasonable price. Love their merlot.
