The historic Gesa Power House Theatre is a world-class, 300-seat performing arts theater located in downtown Walla Walla, Washington. The 120-year-old building was once the Walla Walla Gas Plant, originally built to produce coal gas and pipe it underground to light the streets, businesses and homes of Walla Walla. In 2011, the interior of the building was transformed into a state-of-the-art performing arts theater. The Gesa Power House Theatre was named by the Washington State Building Preservation Commission to the list of the State historic buildings and in January 2012 the theater was officially accepted to the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the theater stages professional productions featuring comedy, music, family programs, films, festivals, and more. Organizations, corporations, and private groups often rent spaces in the Gesa Power House Theatre for their own functions and events.

We had an opportunity to visit the Gesa Power House theater to attend the 1st Reveal Walla Walla wine auction. We had a little pre reception upstairs where we mingled and enjoyed this historic buildings exposed brick and beam interior & retiring into the theater for the 2 hr auction. Great venue to attend!

I came here for the annual performance of the Walla Walla University Steel Drum Band, and what an incredible concert that was! The quality of the acoustics in this theater rival concert halls in the major cities. I would even say that the acoustics are better than some of these large concert halls I've visited. The brick theater is a... More

Power House has a variety of live entertainment, most of it is family friendly. Great sound, views from every seat. Check their website for upcoming events. A close walk from the Marcus Whitman Hotel and others on 2nd Ave. I have been to multiple shows there and they have all been excellent. If you live in the Tri-Cities area, they... More

We were in Walla Walla Christmas week and found a wonderful children's production of "Doktor KaBoom" which was a delightful solo performer instructing the audience on the "science of Santa Claus" which involved "how Santa gets down the chimney", how Santa and his reindeer fly" and "how Santa finds out if you've been naughty or nice". It was a hoot... More

Great intimate venue. Audience members participate in the performance by sitting on the sides of the stage and interacting with people on stage.

Walla Walla is so luck to have this theatre. We recently attended a number of Chamber music events there. Go to their website to find out what is coming up! Beautiful building a couple block walk from the Marcus Whitman. A treasure!

We attended opening night of the Importance of Being Earnest last week in this great space. Love the old feel and what it's been made into. Plus the high ceilings everywhere are spectacular. A real treat.

We took in the BeauSoliel concert when it came to town. It was our first visit to the Powerhouse but we hope to go again. Just go early as parking can be a problem. The building was well situated for a Cajun music concert, however. We sat in the back row and had a great view. The acoustics were good,... More

I love going to this place for performances such as plays, music acts, or local performances for things like day of the dead! Not very expensive and very family friendly!
