This should be on everyone’s to-do list when visiting downtown Vicksburg. It is located right at the Levee wall in an old railway depot building. The curator, Dave, made a lot of the displays depicting the battles that were fought on the river and in the battlefields around Vicksburg during the Civil War. There is a magnificent diorama of the... More

We come here for the little gift shop. They always have the right souvenir to take home to family and friends. The little museum is nice too. We like the short film shown. Worth some time.

The undoubted highlight of a visit is the Diorama of the siege of Vicksburg. However we felt the accompanying exhibits did not live up to the historical significance of Vicksburg to the Western Campaign.

This is kind of deceiving. It has nothing to do with a depot. It is a minature replica of the Civil War in Vicksburg under glass. It has replicas of gunboats and the city with the train that ran around it. Just not our cup of tea.

This is really a joke. There is very little about it that is a museum. It has a couple of model trains that are nice, and some miniature battle scenes with lots of detail, and that's it. Nothing that would be expected in a true historical museum. Cost was $5 each...more of a tourist trap than a real place to... More

This is a hidden treasure. 10 minutes down the road from the Vicksburg battlefield. Model trains and ships for all ages to enjoy. The diorama of the battlefield really ties everything together. A must-see for everyone!

The Old Depot Museum is a consortium of old railroad cars and a miniature model of Vicksburg during the siege. It was very neat, but do not put it at the top of your to-do list if you're stressed for time.

Miniature replicas of all the ships that sailed the Mississippi are incredible. The craftsmanship is amazing and all American handmade. The 22mm soldiers on the model battlefield are hand crafted and painted in explicited detail. All miniature soldiers which numbers in the thousands are handmade and can be purchased or ordered. Nice place to cool off also and refresh.

This museum was ok. Nothing unique and not very professional! We were disappointed an did not learn anything we had already learned at the battlefield.
