My sister and I are Australian and got these tickets, no issues - lots of trolleys. We would have liked and English map :)
Helpful drivers who used English as well when we were on the trolley.

We purchased 2 passes for the week. We used the trolley everyday. It was very prompt, clean and safe. We went to Diamond Head, Downtown Honolulu, the Bishop, both malls and of course, many restaurants. We both speak Japanese so it was very easy for us. But even if you do not speak Japanese, the drivers are local Hawaiians and speak native english. The narration was in Japanese but narration was not what we were interested in. We just wanted easy, fun and reliable transportation without having to call an Uber each day. You can buy your ticket in person at the Lealea outlet in the Royal Hawaiian Center on the first floor. The manager speaks English. The employees will provide you with an english map.

Jump and jump off the Lea Lea Trolley. Easy access for getting around downtown to the restaurants and shops. Also benches are lined up facing the streets, so also great for people watching. Have fun

The reason the website does not give information in English is because the Lea Lea Trolley is designed for the Japanese market. I think it works like an on/off tour bus for $25 per person per day, however the commentary is ONLY in Japanese.

Unless you speak Japanese this this NOT the tour for you. All signs and narratives about the history of Hawaii are all in Japanese. The only thing in English was there map. I wish on their website this was addressed. This was a waste of $60 for my husband and I.

Granted I knew nothing about this trolley line. When we tried to flag one down at the Ala Moana shopping center, the first driver ignored us and passed us by. Fine. Nut then we caught up to a second bus and politely asked the driver for info on getting back to Waikiki. He angrily asked if we had a pass. When we looked confused, he slapped the info sign (which was in Japanese), turned his back and walked off. There was absolutely no call for this. I understand that we hadn’t done our research, but we simply asked a question. There was no call to be this rude. I will never use this bus line.
