We found the area by accident and we have taken visitors back many times. There are the coffee shops and there is a fishing tackle outlet and the Honolulu Beerworks but the best attraction is wandering around the area and seeing the murals on the...More

We have visited Kaka'ako a few times taking visitors to view the artwork. We have also visited the breweries in the neighborhood. My favorite for their beer is Aloha Brewing where they have parking on the roof. The food was a bit too fancy for...More

A local took me here— he says this place is well known to Asian tourists (see many reviews below in Japanese!) but not so much to the Westerners. It’s a hidden gem. Every year during the Pow! Wow! festival there are new ones being created-I...More

If you’re into street art, this neighborhood will be your zen. Very colorful, different themes, every street you turn, you’ll be amazed at the murals. Plus it helps to have Salt (with its local purveyors), Highway Inn, and Honolulu Beerworks in the same hood. Take...More

Interesting arts district recommended by our tour guide Sergio. Fun place with a lot of wall arts. You could easily run into an amazing wall art next corner within 4/5 blocks. Too good to miss. Anti-Graffiti!

This is such a great area of Honolulu. They change the walls on a regular basis and are always have great new scenes. It’s an easy walk around, but parking is a little hard unless you are using the pay for SALT lot. There are...More

Our private tour guide brought us to this area and told us some detailed info about Kaka'ako and its origins. Kaka’ako is located north-west of Waikiki and it is south of downtown/Chinatown. Kaka’ako is a mixed zone community that once was purely the bastion of...More
