At Ohana Surf Project we offer personalized water sports instruction. We specialize in surfing lessons, stand-up paddle boarding lessons and body boarding lessons. We teach all ages and abilities, from first timers to competitive level surfing, SUP and body boarding. Our instructors have over 20 years experience coaching and teaching. We were really happy with our 2-hour group lesson. We felt really safe and supported. There was a large range of ages in our group (5-65) and everyone caught waves. With the instructors' help, we were able to catch every wave and stand up multiple times. We are much more confident now and feel like we could rent boards without an intructor.

Our 4 kids 10, 15, 15, 17 years old had a great time with their 1st ever surfing lessons. We were pleasantly surprised that they offer free shuttle pick ups and drop offs from 4 designated locations. After watching safety briefing and a short ride to the beach the kids were on their way. Parents were also driven to the beach on a different bus. Kids came back 2 hrs later totally loving the experience. All of them were able to stand up and surf. It was very safe and the kids could stand even far in the water where the waves were. Money well spent, great experience for them to learn surfing in a safe supportive environment. Kids are already talking about when to surf next. Thanks to the experienced instructors. The fantastic photos and videos totally worth the cost and will be cherished forever.

My daughter and I signed up for a group lesson which became a private lesson when no one else showed (lucky us!). The instructor (Kevin?) was great, patient and so helpful. In no time we were up on the boards. I highly recommend Ohana Surf Project to anyone looking to learn how to surf or just test it out like we did.

Our instructor was fabulous and very positive. I had my 12 year old and 10 year old with me - none of us had ever surfed. We were all able to get up! The views from the water of Waikiki and Diamond Head were beautiful We even had a few sea turtles swimming near us!

5 stars isn't enough! Family of 4, two kids 11 & 9, amd varying levels of fitness all had a fantastic time and got up on the board! Instructors were friendly, encouraging and made it all so fun. A highlight of our trip for sure. Mahalo!

This is the best surf school I’ve been to :)
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and they make me feel safe in the water.
I started in open group and now I’m doing weekly private lessons. Recommend both!
Always a good time here and improving my skills with the help of great instructors.

Friendly, easy-to-understand instruction. They really treat people like family. They use a great surf spot which has excellent learning waves and is safe. I've used them two consecutive years, and I plan to go back! Highly recommended.

My husband and I Had a great time surfing for the first time. We surfed are Waikiki and the felt comfortable with Evan and the rest of his crew as they taught us how to ride the waves. We also got great action shots for an additional price.

I had a great experience: the instructor was knowledgeable and patient. The waves were enough to surf, but not overwhelming for a beginner such as myself. The cost is a bit high, but I guess for being in the middle of Waikiki beach in Hawaii; this would be expected. Overall, I would highly recommend this company.

I have surfed with Ohana surf Project for two months last summer.
I have progressed much more than I could possibly hope.
The team is so helpful, lovely and so positive !
I recommend 100% this school if you go to Hawai.

I have a teenaged daughter that wants to take lessons. What is the policy for adults to go with their underaged children to the location for the lesson?

Hi Cheri,
You are certainly welcome to come along but if you are wanting to send her on her own you may do so as long as you sign a waiver ahead of time. If you are wondering if you can come along in our complimentary Waikiki shuttle, we do accommodate extra riders. Our policy on extra riders is that if the shuttle happens to be full then we can get the surfers to the beach first to start their lesson on time and swing back after to pick up extra riders. If there is anything else you would like to know, let us know. Have a great day!
