- courtneycarlan2003Homer, Georgia140 contributionsGet your souvenirs here!!!Bring your walking shoes and cash! This is the place to get your souvenirs! Hundreds of vendors! The tshirt vendor on the left when you enter on the back side is the best! They are friendly and have Gildan brand shirts 6 for $20. Be sure to check out Names All Day for handmade leather bracelets! This was my favorite vendor!!Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 5, 2023

Some booths are like garage sale items. It was hot the day we went could have some shade options for shoppers. Food trucks were great but need more tables to enjoy the food.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 17, 2023

- Wendy RMacungie, Pennsylvania153 contributionsCheapest souvenirs in OahuThe Aloha Stadium swap meet has so many things available to purchase. The prices at the swap meet are much cheaper than in Oahu stores and they are the same things. I always buy Hawaii print short and long sleeve t-shirts, sweat shirts, beach towels, and even Hawaii print luggage sets, along with many other favorite souvenirs.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 24, 2024
- Melissa J10 contributionsDress for a workout it’s lots of walkingI would rank this experience of five out of five. I’ve been to swap meets all over California, and this one’s got its fair share of great deals. The swap meet had authentic Hawaiian gear and authentic Hawaiian foods and vendors. A lot to offer and it was a huge stadium, the flea market wraps around the entire outside of the stadium. It’s a long walk. Be prepared to possibly get rained on or walk in the hot hot sun I would advise bringing an umbrella or a sun, hat, and comfortable shoes.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 12, 2024
- Suitcasesister12 contributionsA shoppers dream. This Marketplace is the best place in Honolulu to buy souvenirs. There is a wide variety of items to choose from. Lots of locally made things. Prices were great compared to the local souvenirs shops. Plenty of food choices to eat there and take with you. There is a $2.00 per person entry fee which includes parking. Military receives a discounted entry fee.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 16, 2024

- MartyParty4Houston, Texas1,923 contributionsGreat stop with friendly vendorsA fun stop on your trip to Hawaii. We couldn’t wait to take our college age daughters to the swap meet. We went after we had our Pearl Harbor tour. The food vendors are great. We had a fresh pineapple smoothie with sugar cane juice added. It was delicious on the humid day. The kids enjoyed buying souvenirs and getting some other treats. The local vendors are wonderful and make you feel very welcome and answer all questions. This is a must stop for us. If you want cheap tshirts for gifts back home there are lots of vendors and those popular Hawaiian shirts/dresses/shorts/hats are found everywhere.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 4, 2024
- ALICE EMassachusetts71 contributionsHawaii SouvenirsI read the reviews good and bad and decided this was a place I wanted to try. I’m so glad I went. Yes many booths are the same but some are exceptional. I got a wonderful print from a photographer in Oahu that I am going to have framed. Picked up some great souvenirs for the folks back home and some small thing to remind me of Hawaii in my everyday life . I do wish they had some benches because the walking was a lot in the heat for this 60 something woman. I will definitely be back.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 7, 2024

Visited the Flea Market on a Saturday...and it is big. My wife and I went a little later in the morning and found some of the vendors already closing up. But there were still plenty of vendors left.
The Marketplace wraps completely around the stadium. If you are looking for souvenirs...this is the place. After visiting a luau earlier in the week, and purchasing a souvenir there, we saw the identical item here at a 1/4 of the price. Oh Well.
That being said...THIS is the place to do your souvenir shopping.

The Swap Meet is basically a lot of vendors set up in the parking lot of the arena, all the way around. It takes a long time to do the full circuit. Don't count on food or drinks or washrooms. It's worth spending a couple of hours, especially if you want souvenirs. I saw the same bags being sold for 2 to 3 times the price at other shops, and regretted not getting more at the Swap Meet. And folks, no need to book a tour to do this! We got there easily by bus and then you just walk around on your own at your own pace.

If you can make room for this in your schedule you should! My teenage girls and myself arrived just as it was opening and enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours browsing and buying. Many of the booths are local artisans who had hand made the goods they are selling. By 10:30 it was starting to get crowded and was less enjoyable but by then we were ready to go. We had maybe only seen a quarter of it but it was enough. Such fun!

We went on a Wednesday and stayed about 5 hours. I would estimate about 80% or more of the items being sold are imported. It was hard to find made in Hawaii items which is what we were looking for.
There was next to no food or drink vendors except near the washrooms.
All being said you can find the same items here for cheaper than those being sold in Waikiki, some by alot cheaper. But again it's imported stuff which to me is not what a souvenir should be.

We did the Wednesday swap meet and spent two to three hours walking around. I'd say that the swap meet we went to extended only about half way around the stadium but it was sufficient to find a variety of merchandise. Yes, there is a lot of repetitive types of stalls and merchants but there are many gems in between offering unique food products, handmade, one of a kind jewelry at very reasonable and affordable prices. We found a man who sold beautiful hand painted shell jewelry in lots of different sizes depicting Hawaiian scenes. We loved his work and purchased several for Christmas gifts. We bought coffee, local honey and picked up some beautiful hand-carved tikis made by locals versus the cheap junk that is made in Vietnam. We try to avoid the mass produced crap and look for made in Hawaii products including Hawaiian shirts and we did find many vendors who had "Made in Hawaii" products. The prices here are a third of what you would pay in over-priced Waikiki. We loved our visit here and had so much fun. Bring lots of shopping bags and bring back one of a kind items that you will always treasure!

We came on a Sunday around 9:30. There was a big line of cars to get in. It’s $2 a person which includes your parking. You won’t see a large parking area (with no shade) until you have nearly driven all the way around. The swap meet stalls are in rows circling around the outside of the abandoned stadium. Produce vendors seem to be on one side, and the very few food trucks (felt like I saw only 4) are on the other side. It is a swap meet so expect some “stalls” (really just a small spot sometimes with a shade cover to mark the area) to look like garage sale leftovers. All the advice I read said you could find good souvenirs at a low cost. I only saw cheaply made items that didn’t look like they would last a month. Other than getting more steps done for the day, this was a waste of time.

This shopping excursion about 20 minutes from our hotel was well with it. Still not accustomed to the time change we got to the market 30 minutes after it opened which got us a jump start on the crowds and the heat. Lots of cheap t shirts and stuff but the really great finds were from local artists and crafters. We spent about 3 hours wondering through the vendors and checked a few gifts off our list.

This place is massive. We went on a Wednesday morning. It was raining a little bit so it wasn't very crowded. Parking was easy. We walked the whole thing but didn't really go into many of the shops. A lot of them have the same products. There were some fruit stands, most selling pre cut fruit vs whole fruit. Lots of sticker stands, T shirts, musical instruments and trinkets. I was hoping for more local artist. When we left around 11am, the sun had come out and it was getting much busier. Can imagine this place is packed on the weekend in the summer. We spent almost 1 hour here going pretty quick.

Very Hot got there around 11am and in the middle of the day its sweltering. Take water as the cost of a bottle of water is $6 USD. Not a lot of shade so wear a hat. Lots of vendors selling a lot of souvenirs, clothing and stuff. the general goods youll find at the markets. Much cheaper than the stores in Waikiki if you want trinkets and hawaiian clothing. A good place to spend a few hours. Cash Preferred and Kona coffee at a good prices.

If you are looking for cheap imported souvenirs, imported from China and the Philippines, then this is the place for you. Rows and rows of vendors carrying the same products all ranging within a few dollars from one another. If you are looking to support local artists there are very few here. But those local artists are worth finding, and appreciate that you chose them.

What's the easiest/safest way to get here from Waikiki?
Written June 9, 2024
It might depend on the vendor? I was there in January 2023 and every person we bought from took credit cards.

Is there a way you can buy items online somehow? I am in Virginia and I went to the Swap Meet twice while in HI for 2 weeks. I loved it. But I didn't have a lot of time to check everything.
Written May 24, 2022
Yes and no. These are independent vendors and some have websites, but you would have to know the name of the company or web address. Even if you do, prices are higher than what they charge at the Stadium and you have to pay sales tax and shipping from Hawaii to the mainland, which is expensive.

We DEFINITELY want to go to the swap meet, but need to figure out the best way to do it between the time our cruise ship docks and getting to the airport. 7:30-1:30. We will have our luggage.
Written February 8, 2020
You don’t want to drag around your luggage. I agree that you should try to get the cruise ship to help you. Or why don’t you take your luggage to the airport and check it in, then go to the swap meet. If you have carryons with wheels that will be ok at the swap meet. It’s a paved parking lot.

I read in the reviews that you should not park in section A B C or D or you'll be towed. That was an older post--is that still true?
Written March 21, 2019
Sorry I don't know as I took the bus. If I recall correctly there were people in the parking lot taking money to park so perhaps you can ask them.
