Decent harbour and nice sunset view

Northern end of Waikiki and much quieter and less built up. Worth a walk and good food from Gilligan's Shrimp Truck. Good for the Friday fireworks too.

Since we were staying so close to this marina (we could see it from our hotel balcony) we wandered over to it once. Since I'm not a yachter I don't know if it's better than other ones, but there is a nice walking/bike path that goes by it and is seemed peaceful.

Gilligan's island photo op is there but more importantly the sheer number of boats moored here makes walking around the harbor so interesting. If you time it right on a Friday night you'll be in a prime spot for the fire works show. You might see some debris in the water and that's really too bad but visually the view... More

It's amazing to me that yachting is not a more central theme throughout the islands given the marvelous ocean setting. It seems to get short shrift, and the Ala Wai is a perfect example. I get that the debris floating in the basin isn't just from the boats, but what could be a showpiece is still left tawdry.

We walked around the Ala Wai yacht harbor on our way to see the Friday night fireworks by the lagoon. Pretty average marina and a bit dirty.

A big and quite nice to look at yacht harbour.... But then everything on the water is good t look at in Hawaii. Lots of luxury boats and yachts. Pretty as a back drop to the views

Parts of the Marina are disgusting, filthy, smelly and not what you would expect to find. Surely with the fees the yacht owners are charged to have their boats here, could be put to good use to fix the problem that happens with the tides in the marina. Not a tourist place. See photos and you will see what I... More

We loved walking along looking at all the boats moored here. The people were very friendly and happy to chat about their adventures at sea! We were even invited into the Yacht Club for a drink by a member.

The public toilets are nothing to do with the marina; They have locked private ones in the marina itself. The rubbish is from the river, thrown in uptown and washed into the marina when it rains, not from boaters! True, the months I spent there, at the spot where the rubbish is thickest, there were times when the debris was... More

A lovely marina or yacht harbour - looks dazzling from our 7th floor apartment and with sunsets and colour reflections that photographers dream about. BUT get down to Marina level and what do you see? Take a look at the photos I posted with this review. Surely the Yacht Harbor includes cleaning around the boats in the mooring fee? If... More
