The water here is calm so it was great for my 3 year daughter to "swim" here with her float ring on. I would suggest you wear water shoes as the sand is pretty rocky. It was hard to walk in the water. When we...More

We went there on Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded but there was a lot going on with children's competitions and joggers etc - it is free and the beach isn't too steep so not dangerous. I enjoyed pulled pork and cabbage from the small...More

This place is so crowded and there are so many homeless and panhandlers, there was even a physical altercation between a group of asian youths throwing up gang signs. You just don't feel safe unless you are with a group and even then it's iffy....More

This was an absolutely lovely spot. It can be a bit crowded but overall there are still plenty of places to get lost. The little inlet provides a nice place to swim without crashing big waves.

Magic Island is adjacent to the Ala Moana Beach Park and has public access toilets, exterior showers for washing off the sand and salt water, and usually adequate parking. I was there the afternoon of the Relay for Life so half of the parking lot...More

The beaches at Waikiki are crowded, hot and the water may not be the cleanest. Instead, go to Magic island near the Ala Moana Center (good local bus service) and you will find a clean, safe, family beach with lots of room. There is shade...More

Great sunset views (minus a few clouds). Also a nice view of Waikiki beach and the hotels that line it.

This is an afternoon dog walking route for me weekly. I love magic island I jsut don't often swim there. I find that it's a bit dirty most the time from surrounding boat harbors and such.... but a nice enough beach that's not too overcrowded.

Food trucks to grab a bite. The beach is not very large. The sand is super soft and it disappears and return during different stages of the tides. VERY UNIQUE

No, I have not seen any barbeque grills at Magic Island park. There are picnic tables but no grills. Most people bring their own mats, chairs and find a place to set up either in the grass or near the beach. Many bring their... More
