This peninsula juts out from Waikiki and some locals brought a picnic to enjoy. The area is a bit crowded, but that is be expected. We also strolled along the peninsula after getting up to watch the 5 am start of the Marathon, and it was a great place to watch the sun rise.

Who can tell me why is it called Island? This isn't an island. This place isn't crowded and not so popular by the tourists so If you would like to have a nice walk in peace this is for you. There is a beach next to it which is safeguarded by lifeguard but actually none was there. The water is... More

Kind of a loop off ala moana beach park at the closer end to waikiki. It makes a nice walk to relax near the ocean. An excellant spot for watching the locals take out their sail boats on a Friday evening

Watch the sailboats go out from about 6 pm for the weekly Friday night races, watch the sunset, have a picnic, enjoy the newlyweds taking pictures

The sunset photo looks great. I visited in the morning but now wish I had seen the sunset. Large grassed area. Lots happening in this park but it is so big it didn't appear crowded. There were walkers, joggers, cyclists, a group doing tai chi, a meditation group, a tent offering water baptism, yoga group, lots of family / community... More

Magic Island is really land fill extending from the existing Ala Moana Park. You park your car and head toward the ocean and you are rewarded by views of popular surf breaks on both the east (Diamond Head) or west (Ewa) sides. When the south swells are large, you can watch surfers catching waves. Ala Wai Yacht Harbor is just... More

It does get a little crowded but the area is huge so it's great to be at just to relax. I like the idea of having a grassy areas right by the beach. There is a path for joggers and large grassy areas just for tossing the football around. Trees offer shades if you are not too fond of the... More

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and renewed our wedding vows on the beach at Magic Island in Ala Moana Park. This was a beautiful setting with memories that will be everlasting

Found this beach a few years ago and love visiting it. Never seen this beach busy & would like to keep it a secret!!!!!! It is very safe and there is a lifeguard there. There are no food or drinks facilities so take your own. Just love it here.
