If you like rain forests but not mosquitoes, this is the way to see it. There is a small waterfall that spills into a pond at a sharp bend in the road. The view of the pond is hidden by a moss covered wall. Park by the wall and peer through the fence for the best view.
You can also access nature trails along this road. The trail I took followed the Nuuanu Stream. Don't forget insect repellant if you plan to hike.

Very much worth the drive to enjoy the awesome views of the valley and honolulu. This spot offers one of the most panoramic views in the area. The deep blue ocean in the distance and the mountainous rainforest behind you makes for some fantastic photos. This senic and historic spot is definitely worth the trip and small parking fee.

The trail head is easy to reach, although make sure your valuables are well hidden since I saw the results of a number of broken car windows. The trail is awesome and changes around every turn. HUMID!

We drove through the rain forest on our way to the north side. The rain forest itself was OK but not spectacular. However the view from the top was unbelievable. Panoramic view of most all of Honolulu, extending from Diamond Head on your left and almost to Ko Olina on the right. Very strong trade winds on the day we visited - radio said gusts to 55MPH and 35MPH sustained. I believe it. Apparently high winds are common there. No bother - I'd do it again!! BTW, there is a park ranger there who checks routinely to make sure that you paid the $3 for parking.

On a tour, we stop by Nu'uanu Valley Lookout the panoramic view is awesome!
This place also use to be a battle ground. Took a some photos but did not catch a ghost.

Hold on to you hat, its very windy at this place. If you hair is wet the wind will dry it out.

There is a fee but its for parking.
The restroom is just a port-a-potty.
I hear that there is a concession stand, did not see one, then again I wasn't looking for it.

I loved hiking it. The forest is so lush and beautiful. There is a shaved ice place inside the building and it was the best out of the three we tried. YUMMMM

Man was it windy! This lookout was beautiful. I loved seeing the lush greenery and the beautiful blue sky and waters. I hear there is a trail that leads to a waterfall (Likeke Falls) but we didn't get the chance to go. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the amazing panoramic view.

There is parking next to the lookout and the meter requires a minimum of three dollars, so keep that in mind!

Worth a drive. It's refreshing! One of the most beautiful drives on the Island. We circled it twice and we were mesmerized by it's beauty each time. It was Magical, for a lack of better word. It will heal your soul! 🎉

The "rainforest" doesn't really appear to be a rainforest, but is more like a heavily treed road. It's about a 5 minute ride, and there are areas where you can pull off the side of the road and hike down into the valley to have a look at the stream.

After the rain the paths can get pretty muddy, and very slippery. It's okay to see but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there. Just about a 15-minute drive from Waikiki Beach.

Part of our drive around Oahu. A great place to stop and gaze at the views. Can be windy and while there appeared to be a park person in a vehicle when you exited, no one was paying the self service parking fee and he was not stopping anyone for the fee.
