This is a nice little shopping center far from the city. Koko Marina is located in Hawaii-Kai and has an old feel to it. While it used to be more fun with some key closures, it's still a great place to stop by with some gems. They have all the key places you'd need: a Walgreens, Petco, gas station, movie theatre, and casual restaurants galore. Our favorite reason to come here is Kona Brewing Co., still one of the best restaurants around for locally sourced food and cold beer; even through the entrance looks like it's in a parking lot, the main restaurant overlooks the lake and mountains. The shopping center has plenty of free parking all around. Some areas are reserved for specific businesses, so make sure if you're staying a while. After you park it's easy to walk around to other places. At the time of this writing a number of places are still closed due to COVID19 concerns, but I'm sure it'll become a one-stop location for fun and entertainment again.

Our private tour guide brought us to this area. Koko Marina Center is a shopping center located in beautiful Hawaii Kai in East Oahu. This small shopping center does have a variety and restaurants and a few cute boutique shops.

There are many stores and restaurants in the area. It is a mixed bag in as much as the various places range from cheap eats to more expensive. There are also a smattering of clothing boutiques. You can also find a few water sports shops where you can purchase different types of water activities. The whole area looks like it needs to be spruced up. Parts of it are seedy and tired. The second floor in particular is creepy.

There standouts are: Starbucks, J Salon, Teddy's burgers and the Moena cafe. There are a few clothing shops and a few restaurants. There is also a bank and two nail salons. There is also a movie theatre. There is no grocery store, however, Walgreens does have some groceries. Finally, there are a few sports rental centers.

I really feel for the folks who are leasing space at this shopping center. SOOO much, it needs attention to updating....roof, buildings, painting and parking in the center. So OLD and unmaintained. YEARS OF NEGLECT. Something out of the 60's with NO updates since beginning. Even so, there are some places one could enjoy...I guess...movie theater, a few restaurants(some are pretty Bad though), shops, water sports, banks, a vet, hair/nail salon, dry cleaner, etc. Center is more focused for locals than tourists. Recently moved here from CLEAN, upscale Summerlin in Las Vegas...this center is a total waste for me and mine. You be the judge.
