This is a great trip to take if this is the first time on the island and you want to see everything with a guide telling you about what you are seeing. Our guide was Cousin Jeff and we was a wealth of knowledge and was able to fill in many of the longer parts of the drive with personal stories and other trivia, such as the history of sugar cane and lumber. The stops were half excellent and half commercials. The excellent stops included the volcano, black sand beach, lava tubes and rainbow falls. The commercials were the coffee center, cookie factory (which did have excellent cookies though) and the nut factory. I thought that this was a very worthwhile way to spend a day on the island for a first time visit because you literally see the entirety of the belt road that goes around the island.

We love visiting the canyon. Great hikes if it’s not raining. Watch the weather because if there are clouds you can drive the narrow windy roads and see nothing.

We did the circle tour of Oahu with Roberts tours and our bus driver, KoKo was fantastic. He gave us information throughout the drive, his voice must have been hoarse by the end of the day. He was so full of information about the island. We especially appreciate the effort he made so that we could visit the macadamia nut and coffee farm. Excellent tour! Excellent tour guide!!

Today we took a Hoku Tour of Oahu with Uncle Kevin. We traveled in a comfortable, clean tour bus, and learned many historical facts about Hawaii and its people. We stopped at the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout,Byodo-In Temple,a Tropical and a local farm, and saw the North shore. We had a tasty lunch and continued to Waimea Valley to swim in the falls. Dole plantation was our last stop, then Pearl harbor and sites of Honalulu. Uncle Kevin was courteous, helpful and made our day fun with his quick sense of humor and kindness. We hope to have Uncle Kevin on any future tours.

This tour was a disappointment. It was a Robert's booking and I hope there are other tours that do a better job of presenting these locations. Most of the stops were only a few minutes in length and the tour guide tended to mumble and we couldn't tell what he was saying. Several of the stops were to stores designed for tourists and nothing more. The most interesting thing on the tour was the Hawaiian Polynesian Village. However, we didn't stop, just drove by. The Dole plantation was just their gift shop. All in all, this was a disappointment and waste of money. The landscapes are great but its all packaged to have you stop at tourist traps.
