- Jamaal RobinsMiami Beach, Florida100 contributionsMagic show combined with a luau!!Best way i can describe it is a magic show combined with a luau. This was my first time going to magic show and i was truly dumbfounded. I have heard John Hirokawa was worth the price of admission and that is absolutely the truth!! We had us laughing the entire time as he did many tricks with audience members. The craziest trick was when he made a car disappear. Throughout the show they mix in hula from some of the different Polynesian islands. At the end of the show, there is even a amazing fire knife finale just like at many luaus. We did the Show Only with the free bento box dinner that included BBQ chicken and Kalua Pork w cabbage. Food was alright but i would recommend eating before or after the show. Great value as the tickets were about 35 bucks online!Visited January 2020Written April 8, 2020
- Chris M16 contributionsGreat show, enjoyed by all of my groupA group of 2 adults and 2 teens went to this show in January 2020. Everyone enjoyed it. We elected not to have a meal but did have a round of drinks. The prices were very reasonable. We sat at the back of the theatre but had no trouble seeing everything. The host was funny and the illusions were stunning as were the Polynesian dancers.Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 12, 2020
- Keith SWoodland Park, Colorado141 contributionsGood magic show and dancersThey have options to buy dinner or not; we did not buy it but did get the snack pack, which was actually plentiful. Two drinks cost $6 each; not too bad. The magic was fun to watch; we hadn't seen a magic show in quite a while. The dancers were also very good. Overall, we would recommend this entertainment.Visited January 2020Written March 15, 2020
- Jodi G5 contributionsWaste of moneyThe only reason I rate it one star is because the magic is quite good: all 20 minutes of it. Otherwise you’re eating horrible, not hot food and watching men and women dancing. I cannot express how disappointed I am at this show. No one in my family of four enjoyed the food. This is way over priced: don’t waste your money!!Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 5, 2020

I agree with a review, service seemed slow and the stake I saw on people’s plates were red. I recommend eating before if service and good quality meal is important to you. We got premium seating which was in the middle with good view. 5 starts for entertainment. Our family enjoyed the show and I recommend it. It has magic, Hawaiian dancing, fire dance.Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 1, 2020
- Carol L3 contributionsGreat dinner and showI booked this through trip advisor. Luckily we got there early. We decided to get there early to get pur tickets before we went to have a drink next door at the bar. it. They seem to have problems connecting through trip adviser. They had to call them and then confirm our tickets. They had no Record even though it had a barcode on my phone. Luckily we didn’t get there on time and stand in line for this. Other than that, the show and dinner was awesome.Visited January 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten January 15, 2020

To be honest, we found that the theater, at the Waikiki Beachcomber, was a bit run down and the “plastic” table cloth was in urgent need to be replaced…The “Deluxe” meal was nothing to write home about, BUT, apart from these flaws, ALL THE SHOW WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and thoroughly enjoyable!! We had watched Mr.Hirokawa’s incredible illusions and levitations some years ago,but I have to say that his show, today, is even more amazing!! How can a “full size” helicopter appear in front of your very eyes? Go see for yourself at Magic of Polynesia! We also loved the various dances from Hawaii,Tahiti, Samoa and other Islands, all nicely performed, with well designed choreography; a couple of performers were really talented, as I was told by my husband - who is very fond of Hawaiian dance steps, like Kaholo, Hela,’Ami and such. Among other beautiful performances, we were thrilled to see, during the exciting fire dance, a young boy mastering two fire twirlers!! All of the show, both MAGIC and POLYNESIAN, was high quality: everyone had their eyes glued to the Master Illusionist and the performers. Thank you to amazing Mr. Hirokawa and his talented staff!! - Dannyddcc2 contributionsOld school show for kidsThis is by far the worse magic show I've ever seen. Feels like I'm rolled back 50years, old school curtain over object show. Bad effects, horrible lighting. Fake volunteers, bad performance. I would not recommend this to anyone. I feel ripped off, and many people walked out the middle of the show. Horrible horrible!!!Visited June 2013Written July 20, 2013
- Allieooooops86 contributionsHalf Hula Show, Half Illusion ShowWe love illusionists and were excited to see this show. They have 3 options, show only, dinner and show and more expensive dinner and show. The dinner and show was only $20 more than the show so we choose that. We didn't realize that it wasn't a buffet, and you didn't have an option on what to eat - lukewarm, cafeteria style food was just plopped in front of us with a nice purple roll. You eat in the showroom, where the show will be, and seeing it in the light of dinner takes away from the show's ambiance later. Drinks were watery but festive and not overly expensive considering it's a resort area. The show was okay. The illusions were good, but not great. The show was entertaining, but not something you'd want to see again or something you would write home about. Unlike some other shows, particularly in Vegas, we just didn't feel a connection between the performers and the audience. It was easy to get to from the hotel and was in a swanky part of Waikiki even through the show hotel felt a little run-down. I am hedging on whether I would recommend this to a friend. It was okay for what it was.Written September 5, 2010

The first time I ever saw The Magic of Polynesia was in 1993 after I graduated from high school. Back then, I thought this show was phenomenal and super excited to see that its only been improved upon as the years went by..
So fast forward 25 years and I'm here with my husband and 2 small kids. They absolutely loved the show! John (the magician) was very interactive with the audience with his tricks and we really loved it. He was funny and his staff of Polynesian dancers were awesome.
Wait staff was super friendly as well. We didnt purchase the package with the dinner so cant comment on that but if you want to try a drink while there, try their amazing lava flows!! They are the best!
Great entertainment for all ages, tickets were priced reasonably, drinks were amazing...Nothing but good things to say about this venue so if you're looking for a great night of entertainment while in Waikiki...Make this show top on your list! ;)

The show was outstanding !! John is a world class magician and the night was very entertaining indeed. The only drawback was the meal. The serves were generous but we thought the food was a bit so so. If we were to go again we would book for the show only and eat elsewhere beforehand. The other thing we thought was a bit poor was that there is a Magic of Polynesia sign just as you enter. My Mum asked one of the attendants if she would take a picture of her under the sign and she refused. A few minutes later we found out why. There is a professional photographer that takes your photo. After the meal they offer you the photo in a key ring for $13 and after the show they offer a larger photo for $25. We went to the ladies room just before the show started and the sign near the entry had been covered by black cloth I guess to stop people taking their photos underneath it. I know they are trying to make money but we just thought that was a bit poor. Having said that the show was absolutely amazing and we are glad we went.

The poor service and food is reason for 3 stars only. Took awhile for waiter to come to our table. And then it was another 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. And we never saw waiter again until the end with our check. Likely they were short staffed but I saw another waiter check on her tables multiple times. The bento box was absolutely terrible. We passed over the deluxe dinner option because it didn’t look the value either. The pork was really dry and the chicken was fatty and bland.
Show was enjoyable; the illusions were fun to see. I think the illusionist is great at just that and not so much with engaging the crowd. Some parts were great but most jokes fell flat. Seemed like a nice guy, just not suited for that role. I think they’d be better off getting a separate person to be the host and work the show that way.
All in all, after you pay for parking and receive poor service and food, the total cost isn’t worth it. I think the best value with this evening show is eating before you go and getting there without paying for parking.

We are a family of 5 adults and 5 children. When I put all of us in I get no availability. But when I put in 5 adults and 4 children, I can purchase tickets. Is there anyway I can purchase 5 adults and 5 children for the evening of June 24 or June 25?

There is a ticket counter inside the hotel.
There is also a travel agent at a desk but he sells at a lot more.
Or try calling the theatre - great show, but meal average / don't bother.

probably can usually book same day but just like with any thing (flight, hotel room, concert) demand can vary so best to pre book to ensure you can attend I think.
