Its a little underwhelming
Jan 2020
I am a HUGE magic fan and what I don't like is that this magician doesn't have a great stage presence. You have to LOVE what you do and it seems like he just goes through the motions. The actors on stage seem to have more fun (like the fire eater). But the magician is the star of the show... he should look like he wants to be there. The food is horrible. EAT BEFORE YOU GO.... just go for the show.
NOTE - although the magician has no charisma his illusions ARE GREAT!!! That is why he got 3 stars from me. A couple of them are so NEAT and you will NOT figure out how they are done!!

Magic show combined with a luau!!
Jan 2020
Best way i can describe it is a magic show combined with a luau. This was my first time going to magic show and i was truly dumbfounded. I have heard John Hirokawa was worth the price of admission and that is absolutely the truth!! We had us laughing the entire time as he did many tricks with audience members. The craziest trick was when he made a car disappear. Throughout the show they mix in hula from some of the different Polynesian islands. At the end of the show, there is even a amazing fire knife finale just like at many luaus.

We did the Show Only with the free bento box dinner that included BBQ chicken and Kalua Pork w cabbage. Food was alright but i would recommend eating before or after the show.

Great value as the tickets were about 35 bucks online!

MINDBLOWING

I'm a skeptic. I mean I love a good show but I'm one of those people who likes to pick apart a performance and say "Oh he did it by doing this". There is like, nothing about this performance that I can explain!

The magician (John) was both mesmerizing with his craft, and hilarious as an entertainer. He would pick people out from the crowd to participate in his show, and watching people's reactions to him and what he's doing up closed was so funny to me! Aside from the 'slight of hand' tricks he also did some HUGE tricks that I couldn't explain even if I tried to. My favorite was him making a car float-- then disappear! I mean-- how??

The show also included a lot of the polynesian culture as well. There were hula dances, stories told, and lots of beautiful costumes!

We ended up getting the "Show Only with Free Dinner" package. The free dinner was a Bento Box with some noodles, veggies, kalua pork, and rice in it. The noodles and the pork were sooo good. I went to a few luaus as well and this was probably the best tasting pork I got while I was there. The dinner also came with a cookie, but honestly I didn't like it very much. It was a little dry (but even dry cookies are good cookies). ALSO if you are an alcohol drinker and like things on the sweeter side get a Lava Flow. It was a strawberry paradise <3

MAGIC and mesmering beauty
Feb 2020
To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we had chosen the Deluxe Dinner show, it’s the most expensive option, but you are seated just few steps away from all the action.
To be honest, we found that the theater, at the Waikiki Beachcomber, was a bit run down and the “plastic” table cloth was in urgent need to be replaced…The “Deluxe” meal was nothing to write home about, BUT, apart from these flaws, ALL THE SHOW WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and thoroughly enjoyable!!
We had watched Mr.Hirokawa’s incredible illusions and levitations some years ago,but I have to say that his show, today, is even more amazing!!
How can a “full size” helicopter appear in front of your very eyes? Go see for yourself at Magic of Polynesia!
We also loved the various dances from Hawaii,Tahiti, Samoa and other Islands, all nicely performed, with well designed choreography; a couple of performers were really talented, as I was told by my husband - who is very fond of Hawaiian dance steps, like Kaholo, Hela,’Ami and such.
Among other beautiful performances, we were thrilled to see, during the exciting fire dance, a young boy mastering two fire twirlers!!
All of the show, both MAGIC and POLYNESIAN, was high quality: everyone had their eyes glued to the Master Illusionist and the performers.
Thank you to amazing Mr. Hirokawa and his talented staff!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Good magic show and dancers
Jan 2020
They have options to buy dinner or not; we did not buy it but did get the snack pack, which was actually plentiful. Two drinks cost $6 each; not too bad. The magic was fun to watch; we hadn't seen a magic show in quite a while. The dancers were also very good. Overall, we would recommend this entertainment.

Great dancing

I thought the magic was just average. However, the dancing was spectacular. I would have loved to see more of that.

Great dinner and show
Jan 2020 • Couples
I booked this through trip advisor. Luckily we got there early. We decided to get there early to get pur tickets before we went to have a drink next door at the bar. it. They seem to have problems connecting through trip adviser. They had to call them and then confirm our tickets. They had no Record even though it had a barcode on my phone. Luckily we didn’t get there on time and stand in line for this. Other than that, the show and dinner was awesome.

I have never been to a magic show, what a great experience! Jonathan made a Ferrari disappear! Not only that when we were checking in everyone was so nice. Our escort was super friendly, then we saw him in the show! Cool stuff. Would highly recomend!

Great show, enjoyed by all of my group
Jan 2020 • Family
A group of 2 adults and 2 teens went to this show in January 2020. Everyone enjoyed it.

We elected not to have a meal but did have a round of drinks. The prices were very reasonable. We sat at the back of the theatre but had no trouble seeing everything.

The host was funny and the illusions were stunning as were the Polynesian dancers.

Waste of money
Jan 2020 • Family
The only reason I rate it one star is because the magic is quite good: all 20 minutes of it. Otherwise you’re eating horrible, not hot food and watching men and women dancing. I cannot express how disappointed I am at this show. No one in my family of four enjoyed the food. This is way over priced: don’t waste your money!!
