Outrigger canoeing was great fun!
We hired a private 1 hour charter of an outrigger which was more cost effective and we had an absolutely brilliant time.
We had kids from 7 to 14 and they all loved it.
We saw a large turtle swimming around which was pretty special given how busy Waikiki beach is all through the day.

I just want to thank the crew of Waikiki Beach Services for such a beautiful sea burial for my mum last Saturday afternoon.
It was my mum’s wish and i was able to accomplish it with this wonderful crew.

Everyone from checkin onward was exceptionally kind. The outrigger canoe experience of scattering my sister’s ashes was a special event. The three guys in the canoe were so caring and considerate. This was a wonderful tribute to my sister.

Booking with the Beach Boys through Hawaii Activities.com for surfing the waves in an Outrigger Canoe Hawaiian Style, meeting at the beach stand in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Three of us with two Beach Boys in the canoe were the leader gave clear instructions for paddling. The experience was way too short, most likely because it was so much fun. The description on the booking states three waves and that is exactly what you ride, the leader was to the point with instructions, no frills. The price was $35 or so per person, pictures are taken but unfortunately we never saw the photos. This was the first time in an outrigger canoe and the ride was enjoyable.

We were scheduled for 6 person canoe ride at 2pm. It was raining and thunderstorms were predicted all day so we called at 11am to see if they were cancelling. The individual I spoke to said they were cancelling activities for the whole day because of weather. I asked if we could reschedule and he said I couldn’t reschedule and that the weather would be bad for the entire week and I should see a refund on my card in 3-4 days. The next day I get an email saying thank for you visiting! Turns out they deemed me a “no show” and I was charged in full. When I responded they said they have to “investigate” and will get back to me in 2-3 days.
As someone who works as manager in customer service, this is very poor communication between staff and very poor customer service in general. I do not recommend this service and will continue to dispute the charge.

Hi. If it was cancelled due to weather, we do refund. You would need to contact Viator and request a refund as that is where you had booked. Should you still have a problem getting refund, please let us know. We will reach out to Viator on your behalf.

My husband and I have stayed at the Royal Hawaiian twice this year and both times we rented an umbrella and two chaises. After I learned you have to get in line at the towels service booth at the hotel by about 6:45 am to get a good spot on the beach reserved, it was great. It would be nice if folks with reservations got preferential treatment and you did not have to get in a line at 6:30 in the morning. After you reserve, you can come and go as you please. The employees are very friendly and courteous.

We recently used Waikiki Beach Services to put my Auntie's ashes in the ocean. The charge was $300 and included a canoe ride out past where the waves break, photos - (including under water shots!) and one last wave at the end. The guy steering our canoe also sang a Hawai'ian prayer as the ashes were put in the ocean. It was idyllic and so beautiful. We rode a very long wave all the way back - it was awesome! If you are considering a burial at sea, I HIGHLY recommend this company. We made all the arrangements on line - everything was smooth and pleasant. And they give you a flash drive with your photos! It couldn't have been any better!

Now my teenage boys love to surf!! This was such an awesome experience for them. They ended up surfing 3 more full days after their lesson. Thankful that it was a good experience and it paid off. We had a great trip!

Even though the typical outrigger surf outing is only two wave rides (lasting about 30-40 minutes), it was an early highlight of our Hawaii trip. Ted and Noah took four of us out in decent south coast waves and expertly guided us through the throngs of swimmers out to the surf break. The wave surfing outrigger rides were surprisingly fast moving and the runs toward shore lasted fairly long time. Aside from the exciting rides the time out waiting for the right waves gave us great offshore views of the beach strip and Damond head...all for just $25 per person. We would do this again in a heartbeat.

This is the easiest and best thrill you will get in Oahu - just rock up to the desk on the sand in front of the Royal Hawaiian, hand over $25, wait for the boat to fill, and off you go.
There are no set times, the boats go whenever they have the minimum 4 passengers to make it work, so, booking ahead may save you a wait.
But they are good at putting people together and calling when the crew is ready to go so you can also just turn up, as we did.
They take casha nd credit cards, and can look after your gear at the desk.
The paddling out requires some exercise, but it's not strenuous, and then catching the waves is an absolute blast.
As a bonus you get awesome views of Waikiki and Diamond Head as you dodge the swimmers and surfers on the way back in.
An absolutely essential Waikkiki expereience.

Yes, they do. It's $50 a set comes with One (1) Beach Umbrella and Two (2) Chase Lounge from 7AM. They're really nice solid set. You can book them at their website.

We paid $100 for up to 4 people in the canoe and $80 for the thumb drive with the pictures and videos. We are able to copy all the pictures and videos so that each of us in the canoe ride have a copy. Some places block that possibility. When you compare this price to the price of the pictures on our cruise ($150 for 10 pictures) this is a really great deal. You will not get any better pictures or videos of your adventure that these and if you split the cost between all 4 on the canoe ride, it is only $20 apiece. It was a great ride and we now have a great memory of it. I highly recommend purchasing the videos and pictures.
