In the industrial section of Kalihi, on a back road, is this Hawaiian Chip Co. On Saturday, there is a steady flow of locals, who place their order, and wait for a fresh batch of taro and purple sweet potato chips. The small factory store also sells bags of prepackaged chips. But, the best part of waiting for a fresh order, is that the chips come out in bags or boxes, and you can sprinkle your own flavorings. From Maui onion, Cajun, spicy garlic, sugar, cinnamon, furikake, one can sprinkle and create their own flavored chips. And each customer I talked to had their own favorite. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the owner greets his customers. They are not shy about offering samples, allowing one to determine the best flavor for the chips. They also serve flavored teas on the weekends only. Once you’ve had these fresh chips, you will then understand the craze for these chips.

Im more for the sweets than the chips but these were amazing. We got sweet potato chips and put the Kilauea fire spice for the sweet/hot thing. Really good but the seasoning is spicy so use care. We got taro chips and used the maui onion seasoning. Another awesome combination. I think we ate about 4 pounds of these in the time we were visiting. Thought about bringing some home but figured they would be squashed. We will definitely visit again.

Hello from New York, I came here on April 16 and 19. We were given free samples of the delicious taro and sweet potato chips. The staff was friendly and helpful, letting us know about the seasonings in the corner, that we can use on our chips. I bought a lot!!! I couldn't help it!!! I want to thank "KP" especially for giving me the punch card, which rewards you for your purchases, based on amount spent. KP, I want to thank you and your manager for allowing me to exchange the chip flavors. My son wanted more of the Maui Onion Kettle chips but I couldn't fit any more in my suitcases!! So your manager was kind enough to allow me to exchange my unopened bags of taro chips for the Maui Onion chips. I highly recommend Hawaiian Chip Company to everyone, visitors and locals.

We vistied here while we were in the industrial Sand Island area. They have expanded to across the street which allowed more parking. Not easy to find but sampling fresh taro chips is an experience. Ladies are friendly and are promoting the products.
