I surfed a lot on Oahu growing up and quite a few times around the world in the last 60 years. I don't surf regularly as I am not near to surf places, but I am active in many other sports. I prepared for my 2 hour Gone Surfing session by swimming a couple of times a week through the... More

I booked with Gone Surfing after a former local recommended THEM when I'd "missed out" on a lesson through the Outrigger Reef hotel. I'm SO glad I missed that OTHER lesson!! I booked a private lesson for later in the week. Well, Caz was a FANTASTIC instructor, and Bailey was encouraging as well! I really wanted to LEARN, so I... More

Since way back in the day of watching the old 60s Surf movies, I always wanted to learn to surf. I came to Hawaii to celebrate a mile-stone birthday. This was going to be the trip I got a board in the water. Now, I realize that I am an older woman that could use some work on her upper... More

My wife and I (literally) just took our first surfing lesson with them. What an amazing time! We were able to "catch our first wave" on our first try! Thanks to all the wonderful people we met at GSH, especially Trevor! Aloha!

My son and I had an unforgettable experience with the crew from Gone Surfing. When you're on holiday it's sometimes hard to find somewhere that doesn't deliver an experience like a Tourist Sausage Factory. Gone Surfing was a great find! We felt like we'd met some cool locals who took us out for a wave. The instructors were easy going... More

Gone surfing hawaii located near Sheraton Waikiki is the best surfing shop I've ever been to. After about 5-10min of training on the beach you can go ahead to the line-up. Thanks to the instructor I could stand up almost 95% and paddle back to the line up. Also great pictures taken by photographer - you can get cool pics... More

My 3 children aged 13 to 21 experienced their first surfing lesson with Gone Surfing in Waikiki. Fantastically friendly staff who managed to get them all surfing and extremely quickly. So much so that they insisted on going again . A big thank you to Bailey , Caz, Alehandro and Jeremy. We were offered the option of having photos taken... More

I suggest you to pick the 8am session since it is getting more people at a later time. Gone Surfing was a really nice experience with my instructor Shawn who was really patient and willing to improve my skill. I was able to stand up and surf like 6-7 times in the two-hour class. The most tiring part was paddling... More
