Second time climbing the crater. Some say you don't have to be in shape to climb it. I say wrong. I trained at the gym for four months on the stair climber. My time up was under 24 mins. At 59 years young I beat my husband up the climb. It's 1048 steps up starting at a 35' angle and... More

More an workout than hike. Took me 22 min to the top and I'm not fit but not unfit. It is a very hard hike with a stunning view. We did it for the sunset. Amazing but go down before its dark.

We took the backway to this trail. If you have a friend who knows how to get to the backside of this hike, do it! We started off with about a half mile hike along the lava shores, which was awesome. Huge waves but be careful as it can be slippery. After the shore hike, we hopped across the highway... More

This was great hike. It is challenging. It's quit steep and is great workout. Make sure you bring water. My husband and I took the city bus out to the Koko crater from Waikiki. (Great way to save money getting around the island and easy to use.) After our hike we went across the street to Hanauma Bay to snorkel.... More

This was amazing! My husband and I loved it! Yes you thought it was never going to end, yes at stages you needed to stop and catch a breathe! But it was breathe taking! The views!!! Left me speechless! I would recommend water as a must! Covered in shoes, loose breathe-able clothing! Some fitness level would be recommended! As it... More

When people visit Oahu they feel as though they HAVE to do this hike. It's challenging and at times it can really suck if a person is not in shape, but it is not impossible. It will just take a little longer to reach the top if hiking or heights aren't exactly your thing. My fast friends tend to make... More

Although the sight from up there is kind of nice, it is not much better than from the bottom or other higher ground in the vicinity. On the way you'll find more locals training than tourists visiting. Climbing up on the other hand is pretty hard. The "steps" are far away from each other and they are in really bad... More

I expected a difficult hike but not steps with neither ground below nor a handrail. Unfortunately I could not finish the hike as it was too scary for me and I'll admit, too steep as well. My boyfriend who went up said it was not worth it compared to other views we experienced around the island - Makapuu, Diamond Head,... More

This walk is a must if your visiting o'ahu. It is a walk to do with family, on your own or in a couple. Would not recommend to do with a child under 10. This walk is very hard, my boyfriend is a personal trainer and he struggled at times plus he's scarred of heights which didn't help. The views... More
