I had a lomi lomi massage and it was excellent.

If you are travelling from Australia and not used to tipping, just a note, the minimum gratuity to be paid was around $16 USD. My massage was originally $99, then tax, then I had a special oil which was $10 then the gratuity, which ended up costing about $130 USD for the message for 90 minutes.

The lady who did the massage was very good and the location was setup very nice.

Would recommend and would go again.

Aloha, We are grateful for the review of your therapist and delighted you were able to enjoy the Traditional Lomi Lomi treatment. The customary tip/gratuity is 15 to 20% based on your satisfaction and free will. If at any moment you felt or interpreted an obligation or requirement for a minimum tip, we apologize for our shortcomings. Taking into consideration the cross cultural differences for guests originating from places where such tip/gratuity culture is non-existent, we have struggled to convey the concept and nature of the tip/gratuity service culture. Perhaps this is the reason we witness many food and beverage establishments in Waikiki automatically surcharging a tip/gratuity in the bill, precluding and defeating the purpose of free will/good will nature of tip and gratuity all together. This we refuse to do. Thank you, and we appreciate your candor regarding the tip/gratuity comment and will continue to effort this challenge. Mahalo

Previous reviews were correct, the setting wasn't a cabana in a fancy hotel, but my husband and I had a lomi lomi (Hawaiian) massage, and it was incredible! My Texas massage therapist had told me that it would probably be good since Hawaii requires a lot more hours for their massage therapist licenses. Save half of your bucks and get a wonderful massage!! One note, though - they only take cash.

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with a two hour organic tropical renewal massage. Both our therapists were skilled and professional, provided a calm relaxing atmosphere that felt very comfortable. The services take place in a room within the Queen Kapiolani Hotel without frills or amenities beyond the massage tables and calming music. However for the price and quality of service, you don't need anything else to help you wind down and get into the right frame of mind to enjoy the beauty of a Hawaiian vacation.

I had a 2 hour deep tissue massage and the therapist was great she spent a lot of time finding and dealing with trouble spots. she was very strong and new what she was doing.
at the start it's a little off putting having to wait in the lobby of a hotel and not being able to go to the spa but instructions were clear and easy to follow
will use every time I'm in town can't beat the prices

My husband and I booked a 90-minute lomilomi massage for a couple. We had read the reviews prior to booking and understood that it was not an expensive spa decor with multiple rooms, fountains, etc., but rather one room that could accommodate one client or a couple at at time. As promised, it was clean, friendly, professional...and I'm burying the lead....an excellent massage experience. My husband had hurt his back a few months ago and had received a few massages and treatments, but it was still not 100% back to normal. He told me after the massaage, that
he hadn't felt that good in months. So in a nutshell, we were very pleased to have an EXCELLENT, high- quality massage without the expensive waikiki overhead costs. Highly recommend .

The title pretty much sums it all. This "massage place" is located in a regular hotel room, which is ackward. It took me a while to find it, since I was confused by having to take the elevator to a regular hotel floor then walk a hallway to room 310 which had a small sign that said "Honua Therapeutic Massage". Then I knocked but noone opened (cause I later learned the lady was finishing a massage-no reception). I stood outside the door till she finished then walked into a small hotel bedroom which constitutes the massage place. No relaxing music or light or even comfortable sheets in the table; this is definitely not a spa. Being on a 3rd floor, you can hear the cars driving by the busy street in front, and the guests walking in the room above. The massage itself (kind of like a deep tissue) was just ok, she used way too much oil and I needed to shower soon after because of how much she used, and hours later my muscles were really hurting from how much pressure she used (I guess I could have asked her to use less). Price was good compared to other places, but I wouldn't go again.

Aloha! Thank you for your review. It will help us to better ourselves in the future. We try as much as possible to not over market ourselves and try our best to relay that we are NOT a full Spa facility. However, we do as much as possible to mimic that of a resort spa by offering the same customer service, but at a price that is more feasible for most people. We apologize for any miscommunication. We have seriously thought about all of your feedback and will now: Redesign our signs on the front door to direct our customers as to what they should do (i.e. Knock, Wait outside, etc.), offer all clients a hot towel to wipe off any excess oils at the end of all treatments, communicate with our clients more frequently about pressure, and have more visible signs through out the hotel to direct our clients. Again, thank you for your feed back as we are continuously trying to better ourselves.

My wife and I did two separate sessions with Luka and she was perfect. Right pressure and always taking care of all aspects of the massage, touching different points which I had never had before. The place is also very welcoming and relaxing, will definitely be back.

Aloha Filipe, Thank you for your back to back appointments in September. It is inspiring to learn of your visit from the other side of world. It is sometimes difficult to know if the guest was able to receive an effective treatment and your time taken to provide candid feedback on connecting pressure points, and the flow of your Honua Therapeutic custom and Deep Tissue massage treatments are very helpful and encouraging for our development going forward. We hope we were able to assist in part to maximize the enjoyment of your stay in Honolulu. We hope to see again during your next visit to Oahu. Mahalo, and Take care Luka

My girlfriend and I booked a couples massages at Honua and we couldn't be happier. This would be our 4th couples massage sampling the different offerings in the Waikiki Area and we both agree that Honua is our favorite. I had Luka and my gf had Eden. It was both relaxing and therapeutic. Its very obvious they are professionals that know how to work with your muscles. Luka quickly identified an ever present knot-monster in my lower-neck area and worked it out. We were both buzzing after and look forward to our next massage here. I think we are done testing out other places as we are tired of other places not living up to the standards Honua has set forth. Mahalo Luka and Eden!

This is my third visit to Honua Therapeutic Massage and I could not be more pleased. Each time I have had their signature massage and most recently I also had a facial. They are always kind and attentive to my needs. Both therapist there seem very intuitive and know just the right knots to work out. I've had both a couple massage with my husband and solo. Their office is by appointment only- you can easily book on line and the office is inside a remodeled hotel room in the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Its sounds weird but isn't. I always park along the edge of the zoo where it is free. I give myself an extra 20 minutes to park so I am not rushed. I highly recommend this place.
