We had a great time. The hike wasn't bad but definitely recommend good shoes. Definitely got my Fitbit steps in! The only issue was the gnats, they were awful at the top.

Took the Green Line Trolley to the entrance - was great recommendation from a friend. You can walk around the park entrance area. Shaved ice trucks. It is blazing hot on the walk. Our kids stayed back - really hot. We hiked to the top in about 25 minutes and were back in about 15-20. I totally recommend wearing hats... More

Worth the hike for the views and exercise. It can get very hot in the summer. Bring water and wear a hat. Comfortable shoes a must. Uneven terrain and a lot of stairs to get to top. Tough for small children.

Since we travel from the East coast of the US, the time change means we wake up by 4 am, Hawaiian time. This means we always get going early the first day with our hike up Diamond Head right when the park opens at 6 am. The temperature is better than later in the day and the paths are quite... More

We visited at 10am on a Thursday. expecting a croud, but it was RIDICULOUSLY crowded. Yes, the views from the top were nice , but the enormous crowds really detracted from the view. In addition, the views on the way up are nothing special. There are so many great hikes on oahu, don't waste your time here. The lighthouse trail... More

We've been there, dying in the heat, walking to the top. US$1.00 entry fees for pedestrians, cars are US$5.00 each vehicle and you have a great view over Honolulu, Waikiki and the south east coast. I recommend it.

This is definitely best done in the cooler hours of the day. A moderate climb up the Diamond Head crater which wasn't too strenuous. There was a good track wide enough to pass others on. There is a tunnel to go through but it is well lit. The stairs at the top aren't too steep. The view at the summit... More

Visited 07/04/2016. Parking is $5 a car - does not matter how many people in your car. Walk ins are $1 a person. Parking is regulated by a parking attendant who perches on top a ladder platform and signals you to the next person leaving. Well organized and pretty timely. Restrooms are plenty and are located before the trail. The... More

If u drive, get there early! The parking lot is small and we had to wait for a spot. We started hiking at 8:30am and it was already hot but not too crowded. Several places to stop for amazing views and picture taking. Go all the way to the top for the best view. Wear a hat, sunscreen and bring... More

Wear comfy shoes its a hard walk but well worth the views. There is a lot of steps if you take your time not too bad. You can drive to the basin and park your car before the walk. It's a $5.00 entry fee
