About
Chateau Tumbleweed is a collaboration of four friends – two husband-and-wife teams – who, after working more than 30 combined years for other Arizona wineries, recently left their “day jobs” to focus on their own project. We have a great friendship, a penchant for absurdity and complementary skills in vineyard management, winemaking, sales and administration. We crafted our first wine – only three barrels – in 2011. After three vintages of making our wine at the Four-Eight Wineworks Winemaker’s Cooperative in Camp Verde (2012-2014), we took the plunge, purchased the building we’d been eying for the previous year and converted it into one of Clarkdale’s first commercial wineries and tasting rooms.

My husband and I visited this winery as a part of a private winery tour. The wine was good, and the wine bottles all displayed very beautiful unique art that we learned was done by one of the owners. The highlight though was the man and woman behind the bar, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and funny! So down to earth! Reminded me of our usual hang out spots back home, felt really comfortable. Great vibes here :)

Currently, there is patio seating only. Not a ton of tables so there may be a wait. They do have a heater. Decent wine and great service. Tastings are nice pours, and they are freehand not from a measured pour spout. We bought 6 bottles. Everyone was very chummy, and we made some new friends.

We were lucky enough to schedule our visit just after a rush of people left. The flights were reasonably priced, and then we ended up tasting a few after we were finished with those, including the two dessert wines (which we ended up bringing home with us!!)

What made this visit so special was we ended up chasing to one of the owners for a solid half hour or more, mostly about wine but also about everything else. They love dogs and our (110lb) dog got a bowl of water and a treat and some ear scritches on their big patio!

All in all, great experience.

I saw CT online with the Verde Valley tour and it said worth a stop, so we did
Our host LOU which we want to adopt, was the best.
Let us do a VIP switch around on the tasting and even went back and brought out some from the back room...
Was a fun time and great atmosphere. If u r in the area, please stop and enjoy.
And yes, we purchased some reds!
Our covid safe tasting kinda sucked, but it was what it was.
At least the wine was good

We are fairly new wine club members with this delightful winery. Today was a beautiful day to sip their yummy wines on the patio. My happy place. This is the best winery to visit in the area. You will love their reds!!!
And they have the cutest artwork labels.

What a great experience at Chateau Tumbleweed. A very serious winery with a funny name.

We sat down for a tasting and ended up going through about half their wines, and walked away buying two cases of Arizona-made wine goodness.

The fruit/nut/cheese/meat tray is a good way to nibble between wines.

Average bottle prices are around $25, with a few selections going up a little higher.

If you go, you won't be disappointed.

After a recommendation in Jerome we stopped at Chateau Tumbleweed for a wine tasting. We sat outside on the patio. The service was prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable. The wines were surprisingly great! We received generous pours to taste each of the wineries current wines. I rarely purchase Arizona wines, though there are many good ones out there. The Syrah from this winery was exceptional. From start to finish it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

I love this little tasting room! It’s always a favorite place of mine when I’m in Cottonwood. My boyfriend and I stopped in and we were so relieved to see somewhere in Arizona practicing social distancing and mask wearing. The gals working there that day were so friendly and helpful, making it a very relaxed and enjoyable time! Had such a great time, we even visited again two days later. We loved the wines we tasted and decided to buy a few bottles on our return visit!
