Never knew copper was so interesting! Did you know our vinyl records were made of copper first as a mold? Learned about cooking items, and history dated back to the stone ages. How copper in used in other metals to make them stronger.. The founder of the town is an interesting fellow Mr. Clark In 1920s. Lots of old buildings and beautiful architecture.

Hi Paula Thanks for your visit to the Copper Museum and Clarkdale. Clarkdale was founded and owned by Senator William A. Clark, the same person who founded and owned Las Vegas! Hence Clark County! We are glad you found the museum interesting. Have a safe journey in "The Copper State" and all your travels.

The things I didn’t know about copper. Set aside a few hours to even scratch the surface. Informative people running the place. A hidden gem.

WOW. What an experience. We heard about this place while doing research on what to do in the area. It was an incredible experience walking through the museum. It is a self-guided tour, but the owner would check up on us and ask if we had any questions. There is so much information that is provided as you walk by all of the displays of the incredible collection of copper that they have been putting together for over 18 years. You could easily spend half of a day in here. In addition, they are constantly adding in new items all the time.

Hi and thank you very much for the review. The museum is sorta a off-the-radar type place so it does take a little to find us. We don't advertise but instead we add those dollars to our collection, making it a value to the people who visit. We currently have about 6500 artifacts on display and 1400+ that date to the 1500-1700's. An amazing accomplishment for a small town. Have a safe journey in the ...Copper State!!!!

We decided to stay in Clarkdale to beat the noise and crowds and this museum was down the street. So well organized and had some really great examples. I did not feel like I was seeing the same thing over and over. Just the right amount of science to make it all understandable and interesting. Great stories along the way.

Hi and thanks for your review. We are glad that you found the museum and that it was interesting. The collections on display include over 6500 artifacts, of which 1000+ date to the 1500-1700's. Clarkdale is Arizona's first model community and a former company town, built in 1912 and owned by "America's Copper King", Senator William A. Clark. It is the perfect location for a museum of copper as Clarkdale is filled with wonderful example of architecture, all reminiscent of our copper history. Thanks again.

We found this place on TA and we are so glad that we did! It's a beautiful museum that is so interesting! There's lots of art, but also lots of information and history regarding copper and the copper art. We learned so much! And the man at the front of the museum has plenty of stories to tell if you'd like even more information! A must do if you are anywhere near Clarkdale, AZ!
