Often Overlooked

A small comprehensible look back in time. Museum is small but interesting. The ruins have 1/3 mile walkway around them giving a great idea of how people lived.
Caution the walkway around the reconstructive ruins Is very hilly. I would not recommend it for people who have heart of breathing problems.

Tuzigoot, Another Must Stop for History Buffs....
Apr 2021
This was our first visit to Arizona and the Sedona area. Our first full day of touring bought us to Clarkdale, Jerome, and Cottonwood....And of course, Tuzigoot National Monument.

We bought our passes in the giftshop/interpretive center than headed to check out the grounds. As you hike up the hill to the main area you have wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.

The grounds are laid out to show the ancient building site and is well maintained by the Park Service....A stop worth taking.

Not a bad visit.
May 2021 • Couples
Not a bad little spot for a visit. We were able to view the whole thing in about 15 minutes and it’s not a long walk at all to the monument, but it is an uphill walk.

It was $10 per person which if it were just to view this monument I wouldn’t say it was worth it, but it also gave us access to the Montezuma National Monument down the road which made the price worth while.

I will say the view from up top is nice!

Well laid out- easy to access

If choosing between Tuzigoot or Montezuma, choose Montezuma. We went to both and didn't regret it but they have similar histories.

Bad ruin reproduction
May 2021
We visited this ruin in May 2021. It was not crowded. The reproduction of the ruin, using today's building material, was horrible. Total waste of time to visit.

This is a National Park so bring your Pass. Ranger Station is very nice. The walk up to the ruins is very close by but is steep on some places. There are areas to sit. Bring water.

Incredible
Apr 2021 • Family
We have visited this small national monument twice. It is easy to explore along nice walkways. They have an opening into a restored room and steep staircase to observation area. Both times we visited it was very windy so hang on to your hats! The views are incredible but take your time exploring the artifacts inside the ranger station. Lots of history about Native Americans throughout this part of the Southwest. The name Tuzigoot has an interesting history. We don’t really know much about the original inhabitants!

Might as well if you already paid for Montezuma Castle
Mar 2021 • Couples
Check it out if you're already in the area since it's included in the Montezuma Castle ticket. Overall it's an enjoyable 30 minutes of walking around and enjoying the weather.

Very nice ancient living site on a hilltop
Mar 2021
Very nice display of an ancient living site on a small hilltop. Very easy walk on paved walkways with a slight incline. Great views. Nice gift shop with restrooms. Good signage to explain the displays.
