We found out about this place after having their picante sauce at a local restaurant. We went to check it out and they have everything from cookbooks to about every type of Southwest spice and more. The owner gave us a tour and was extremely knowledgeable about all things peppers!

We had high hopes, but turned out to be a waste of time...they don't make spices here, they just mix bulk purchased spices. The products sold seem to be overprices vs the same products found in Tucson.

Response from Jeanie N, Owner at Santa Cruz Chili & Spice

Thank you for your feedback, always appreciated. Yes, we do not make our spices. When my father first started adding spices to his inventory in the 1970s, he began selling to the small “mom and pop” grocers in southern Arizona. He looked around the world for the best and most authentic items he could find. We use that network today (now fulfilled by large importers) to stock our Spice shop in Tumacacori. We work to keep our variety and pricing In line with the market, but always appreciated feedback. Again thank you.

A friend told us about this place and I am glad we made a point to stop here. I love to cook and they had a wonderful selection of spices and condiments to purchase. The Mexican vanilla was the best price I found and I picked up scorpion and cricket suckers for the grandkids. I made 2 stops to pick up great souvenir gifts for friends and family.

We travel from the Phoenix area just to pick up our stock of spices for our Mexican cooking. Can’t beat the selection of fresh and delicious spices.

Looking for pear cactus jelly. Also found pomegranate jelly and lots of spices, rubs and interesting things to see and do in a very small shop! Great.
