America's Cup Charters is Newport, RI's premier sailing company chartering the legends of the America's Cup trophy. We’ve been chartering the America's Cup legends since 1986. We also offer daily ticketed sails for individuals. Our fleet includes the illustrious Intrepid - the two time winner of the coveted America's Cup trophy, Weatherly - winner of the America's Cup and also one of the few yachts listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ted Hood's infamous Nefertiti, and former ocean racer Ted Turner's champion and America's Cup contender American Eagle. Race, train, or just relax aboard the legendary 70' long 12-Meter Class yachts. This can be an interactive hands-on experience, no sailing experience necessary, or a casual relaxing sail. Each yacht has a captain and two crew members on board to interact with our guests. We give people the chance to feel what it's like to be part of an America's Cup experience. The protected waters and predictable breezes of Narragansett Bay make for a comfortable racing and cruising experience.

As a long-time sailor, going for a sail on a 12-Meter was always on my bucket list. My wife and I, along with two other couples with considerable sailing experience took a late afternoon 2-hour sail on Nefertiti, the 1958 12-Meter that was narrowly defeated by Weatherly to be the 1962 Cup defender. We had a very capable and knowledgeable... More

We took a sail at 5 pm for 2 hours. There was a mixed age group from children about 8 years old to folks in their late 60's. The weather and sail were fine. The crewmen Erica and Johnny were friendly, efficient and helpful getting on and off the boat. The captain made no effort to get to know the... More

Outstanding experience from making our reservations to checking in for weather issues to dock side registration to sailing aboard the Weatherly. Captain George involved as many of the guests as interested in hoisting the sails and gave us the most memorable highlight of our family reunion. We will be back!

We had never been on a sailboat before this was an amazing experience. We only had four people on our boat in addition to the crew. We were able to help raise the sail and lower the sail. We went at sunset which was spectacular. Women, do not wear a skirt or address. It is very windy and the boat... More

My Dad and I booked a sunset trip with America's Cup Charters. We sailed on the Weatherly with Captain George and crew Aaron and Sophie. There were 10 booked passengers. George is very knowledgeable about the area and sailing and Aaron and Sophie are great teachers for those on board who want to help sail. There was a little bit... More

Captain Mike, Erica and Johnny made for a fun and exciting sail on the Intrepid. Learned so much about sailing and thoroughly enjoyed the views from the bay. Try it......you'll like it.

Many years ago, my father worked on building of Amercas Cup challenger - Heritage. My wife found the website and thought I might enjoy sailing. This was an amazing experience. Very easy to book on line. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour sail out of the harbor and back. You are able to participate with the... More

Beautiful sail on the Weatherly with Captain George Hill and his crew. This was a birthday gift for my husband and he was in heaven. A highlight of the trip was when the Captain worked his way around the boats in harbor while under sail. One woman on her boat made the gesture "I bow down to you" as we... More

WOW! this was a great outing. Real sailing on a real sail charter. We went almost horizontal! The charter was gorgeous, the sailing was perfect. The crew was the best.

We had a blast on this sail. We had the evening sunset sail (5:30pm to 7:30pm) and it cost less than $200 for my wife, 7 year old son and I. The captain and crew were friendly. You get to sail on one of their yachts which has sailed in or won an America's cup race. It is a 12... More
