About America's Cup Charters
America's Cup Charters is Newport, RI's premier sailing company chartering the legends of the America's Cup trophy. We’ve been chartering the America's Cup legends since 1986. We also offer daily ticketed sails for individuals. Our fleet includes the illustrious Intrepid - the two time winner of the coveted America's Cup trophy, Weatherly - winner of the America's Cup and also one of the few yachts listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Heritage - 1970 Cup Contender & IOR Racer, and Onawa, the timeless beauty vintage 12M. This can be an interactive hands-on experience, no sailing experience necessary, or a casual relaxing sail. Each yacht has a captain and two crew members on board to interact with our guests. We give people the chance to feel what it's like to be part of an America's Cup experience. The protected waters and predictable breezes of Narragansett Bay make for a comfortable racing and cruising experience.

What a fun, fun, fun experience! We got lucky with a great sailing day, and, even though it started raining toward the end, it did not diminish our experience. The boat cuts through the water so quickly and can angle quite a bit. We had a fun and experienced captain and a lovely crew.

Excellent way to see Newport and experience an authentic piece of its history. We had aboard a mix of experienced sailors and some who’d never sailed before and all had a great time with this great crew. Book it - you’ll be glad you did!

A great cruise aboard a beautiful racer! The crew were great: fun, humorous guys who had tons of info and treated total novices to sailing as well as old salts with equal respect. We had great wind and even though we only used the jib, our time on the boat was thrilling. Oh, and the crew are real pros: their tacking and even their jibing in strong wind was very smooth.

The Heritage captain and crew were wonderful! They invite you to have a hands-on experience. My daughter had so much fun hoisting the sail, and my husband could steer the boat, a dream coming true. And sailing at the sunset was breathtaking. Highly recommended!!
