Newport is one of the best small places to visit if you're in RI. I recommend the Amazing Grace as one of many family fun activities to do because you'll get to see picturesque views of the harbor and sometimes when I come to ride, I'll have my own snack bar for sale. I sell a variety of snacks that most of you would like and I only charge $1-$2 each for them so if you're in the area visiting, stop by and come visit me at my snack bar and I'll make you feel right at home while enjoying a cruise on Newport Harbor.

Nice tour (we took sunset cruise) with some very good views of harbor and mainland. Sit facing the right side of ship. Tour 1 hour long but may be somewhat abbreviated if waters are rough. Sunset was not nearly as good as expected - I would recommend a daytime boat trip -- and water taxi (for only $15) covers most if not all of the same sights and I was told that there is good commentary on this too.

This was a really enjoyable experience! You can sit topside and enjoy the breeze or sit in the shade on the main level. Both the captain and our tour’s narrator had great personalities and were a pleasure to spend time with. We learned so much about the history of the area as well as interesting tidbits about current day happenings. This tour is great for all ages. We are happy we followed up on a positive recommendation and would definitely recommend this activity to others.

If you are looking for a harbor tour this is great. The boat is comfortable and roomy, w beverages available on board and the narrator did a great job of pointing out the sites and history on every step of the tour. Unfortunately we booked this more for the sunset cruise aspect for my bday and I was very disappointed to realize that on their sunset tour I did not actually catch one glimpse of the sun. I even asked about this when I called to make the reservation as the time seemed very late to begin a sunset tour but was assured by the woman over the phone we would get to enjoy the sunset. Sadly we did not. You have to be in line on the dock by 7pm where you can not see the sun from. The boat then loads and again your view of the sunset is blocked. By the time this cruise actually starts at 7:15 the sun has already set and you have actually missed the entire thing. So disappointing as we booked this to see one of the legendary Newport sunsets. They really need to stop advertising this as a sunset tour. Overall we did enjoy the harbor tour and if that is what you are looking for this is definitely the way to go.

Never bought anything from groupon before now I know why. We called to book a cruise on the amazing grace because I already bought the tickets. Told they do not take reservations to show up about a half hour before. I called the next day in the afternoon to find out what time the boat was going out. Drove over to Newport for the boat ride showed up early 6:10 pm for the 7:15 sunset cruise. Told the 6 and 7:15 were both cancelled. Then they only had a 1:30 boat ride for the other days. We were told to go back Saturday. Already checked out of our room. both times we only went over to Newport from Jamestown for the boat ride. do they care that a round trip is $8.00 on the Newport bridge each time? Found out the boat was chartered out all day. Told us we could go on some other boat. this is not what we paid for. and I tried to be nice about it, but the little boat made me sick. not being able to book reservations is the problem. how do we get our money back? And for wasting our time you should be giving us a free boat ride next year if you are still in business. I had to call our son and tell him not to bother so he didn't get to do any ride. It was like just throw us on a different boat.

Called early in the afternoon to reserve spots on the 7:30 PM sunset cruise. Was told they don't take reservations but suggested we show up 30 minutes early to buy tickets to assure seats on the desired cruise. Found the place about 7:20. Only one crew member on the boat. The other crew members had departed, having decided to cancel the trip due to lack of interest. Within minutes, about 10 people showed up to take the cruise. Very disappointing. Seems to me they could've waited a little longer. They did not offer to sell me tickets when I called that afternoon.

If you would like to have a harbor tour and a view of the Rose Island Lighthouse, the Castle Inn Lighthouse, and several mansions from the water consider taking Amazing Grace. You will receive a one hour narrated tour. You may even run into a celebrity on the boat. On a recent tour I got to chat with the mayor of one of Rhode Island's larger cities. The tour guides are knowledgeable and nice. Ticket sales people, etc. are very nice. I try to take the boat at least once a year. (I live in RI).

We took a harbor tour cruise on a Saturday afternoon. I would recommend getting there first to board or you will have to sit on the bottom in the back row and you can barely see anything. We could not hear a single word that the tour guy said. His voice was completely muffled, so we just looked around while on the tour. It was nice to see around the harbor and the mansions at the end. Would have been nice to actually hear what he was saying and if we had better seats it would have been more enjoyable.

We chose this tour over the ferry because we wanted the "tour" rather then just transportation. We arrived 10 minutes before scheduled time to leave and we're told the top deck was full and we would have to ride in the lower deck. We couldn't see well and the sound was terrible. We had no idea what we were looking at. If you can get there early it would probably be a good cruise. This was our only day in this city and we were disappointed.
