Loved our time at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
My entire family loves tennis so we decided that a trip to the International Tennis Hall of Fame would be on the itinerary during our trip to Newport. We decided to visit on a early Friday afternoon. There is metered parking in front but we were able to find the parking lot along Freebody Street, which only acommodated about 10-15 cars. I believe there is another lot as well. The grounds were lovely and well kept. You can pay to play or practice on the grounds though I don't know the prices or schedule restrictions. There is a larger stadium there as well, which hosts some popular tournaments from time to time, most recently one in July 2021. The HOF Grounds also, obviously, hosts the Inductee Enshrinement Ceremony each year.
The museum admission is $16 for adults but $13 with a AAA discount. Kids 12 and under are free! After admissions (you have to leave backpackes downstairs and Im not too sure about strollers) you can then go upstairs to the museum. The museum has tons of interesting information and exhibits. It takes you through beginning of tennis and how it evolved into the sport it is today. They have exhibits on various rackets and tennis outfits throughout time which I found very interesting. There are lots of memorabilia worn by players during their milestone matches throughout the museum. They also explain how various tournaments came to be. There are some interactive exhibits including a microphone where you can call a match as an announcer! There is a large room with all of the Hall of Famers going very far back. It was nice to see players honored throughout time.
One of the more interesting exhibits in the Roger Federer hologram room. It is a small dark room and when you enter it, a hologram Roger is activated. He tells you 10 reasons why he loves the game of tennis...it last for a few minutes and was pretty cool.
We learned a lot at the museum, especially my 10 year-old. There were a lot of players and history that he was not yet exposed to...so the fact that was admitted for free and got to experience and learn so much was awesome.
There is also a gift shop/store but they were closed for lunch at the time.
Overall we had a great time at the Hall of Fame. It is an absolute must for tennis lovers...especially those with little tennis lovers in the family.

You can walk the grounds for free, but it costs money to go inside the museum. I just walked the grounds, and watched some games being played on the perfect grass courts. Everyone wears all White tennis attire, so its all quite a site to see. There are nice shops & restaurants surrounding it, which I preferred to the busy Thames Street scene.

This was recommended by the owners of the inn where we were staying. Admission was reasonable. It’s a self guided tour, but you can pay $3 extra for the audio tour. We opted for the self guided tour. Although my husband and I are not huge tennis fans, they had enough memorabilia to keep our interest. There’s a lot of information to read throughout the rooms, and you can make it as long or short as you choose. They also have some interactive displays and a Roger Federer experience that was worth watching.

The museum had a good mix of new interactive exhibits and classic history displays. Their were enough engaging elements for late elementary kids and beyond. Their was memorabilia from old and recent 2022 open winners. The Roger Federer hologram, Arthur Ash VR, and interactive trivia game exhibits were a highlight. The large complex has many additional attractions for tennis fans/players. Several people had reserved court time on the grass or hard courts. We enjoyed walking around the courts outside after the museum as casual fans. Their were two shops, a general gift store and a pro shop. We visited just after the summer open and the induction of Lleyton Hewitt in the hall.

We walked the grounds, read the signage and soaked up the historic atmosphere without even entering the museum and paying an entrance. I had read some background on it but the grounds were bigger than I thought. Well done!

My wife and I are avid tennis fans, she the player and me the spectator. Have been to all 4 Grand Slams, a Davis Cup, and many of the top tourneys here in N.America (Indian Wells, Miami, Toronto, Montreal et al). Had always wanted to visit The Hall of Fame and finally got the chance on our whirlwind New England drive about! It was everything they touted and more. Spent several hours touring the beautiful facility, marveling at the wealth of exhibits, attractive grounds, descriptive history of the evolution of tennis and the struggles women faced to get women's tennis to where it is today. Well worth your time if you love tennis or are just a casually interested person.

I've been going to the Tennis Hall of Fame grass court tournament on and off since 1982. For a very brief period, the tournament had both men and women and consisted of 32 seeds each; it was a great place to see professionals play up close, real close. I went to the tournament last year and I enjoyed it immensely considering the COVID pandemic. The pandemic did subdue the excitement/atmosphere of the tournament a bit.
Overall, if you're in the neighborhood, check the "Newport Hall of Fame" out!

While the beautiful building and immaculate grass courts are a nostalgic view into tennis' past, the museum makes a good effort to include the modern sport and its super stars. Lots of interactive exhibits and film clips. The evolution of the women's game well presented. Very enjoyable. (Tennis players can sign up for court time in the pro shop.)

More than 25,000 artifacts are in the museum with racquets, clothing, trophies, balls and cans. The history of how the game has evolved is told in a number on inter-active displays. You can look up your favorite player from a vast array. One room is devoted to the 4 majors: Wimbledon, French Open, Australian Open and U.S. Open. Be sure to watch the Roger Federer hologram where he talks about the 10 reasons he loves tennis. Well worth the $13 admission fee for seniors.

The Tennis Hall of Fame is a great deal of fun and worth seeing even if you are not a major fan. You can see the evolution of the game at the museum. The grounds are beautiful as well and worth walking through.

There were several areas that were free without paying an admission fee. We spent some time enjoying those. We are not tennis fans so that was sufficient for our purpose

There was a small kitchen eating area in which we had breakfast with the other guests. I am not sure how late it was open
