The drive from downtown Newport past historical Fort Adams, host of historical summer music festivals, and Hammersmith Farm, summer home of JFK and Jackie, leads to a beautiful stretch of road that includes Brenton State Park at the near end, sunning harbor seals on the...More

A beautiful drive with amazing scenery. Interesting stops along the way as well. Very unusual Portuguese monument.

This is always a beautiful drive. Probably about six miles long. Spectacular scenery along the park and some amazing Newport houses. A part of the Newport experience.

No trip to Newport is complete with put a drive down this road to make your jaw drop. Put the Zillow app on your phone so you can see the prices of the real estate! Mind boggling!

Beautiful drive with extraordinary mansions. Be sure to take the tours of the mansion and if you are there during the Christmas season - the mansions are decorated and are spectacular.

Definitely worth the short drive after you see all the mansions. I can't wait to come back in the summer and go for a run.

Today was stormy along the shore. Waves crashed over the ocean wall. Other days the water will be so still, it looks more like a lake than the ocean. Regardless of the weather, a drive along Ocean Drive is a wonderful experience. You can park...More

We have been coming to The Drive since high school, and now well into our 60s we still love to walk the rocky shorelines, sift through the tide pools, fly our kites, run our dogs, and enjoy Dell's Lemonade. One of us trained for a...More

Suggest driving slowly, with hazard lights. Stop along the way. There are a few pull offs to view the vistas. We used the area map from the visitor center. We actually drove the Ten Mile Ocean Drive twice taking turns driving. Time well spent. Breathtaking...More

Beautiful as it all is, the traffic can knock you out. It won't be a quick side detour from your trip to PA. If you have the time to add one night to your trip, I would suggest doing that rather than exhausting yourself by... More
