The fort is very well preserved. It is enormous, so be prepared to do a ton of walking. Will classify this as a nice to do, not a must do and this is why. 1. The tour guide seemed to rush us through the fort. We had troubles keeping up with him at times. 2. The big thing for me... More

We were sad that we chose the winter days when the fort was not open to tours but did get to walk the grounds and very much enjoyed that. The fort looks so intriguing and they offer a special tour that explores the underground areas which we'll be back for.

Nice View from the Fort of the town, bridge and across the water - There are different activities that happen at the Fort during the year, you will also go there on the Trolley Tour. There is lots of parking there, I have been told you can find sea glass there!

I am an avid paranormal TV show watcher. When I saw the fort I googled it, and found out right away that yes Ghost Hunters had been there a few years back.... so of course I had to check it out. We had seen it by boat the night before. We had a nice hike around the property - didn't... More

The Fort was already closed for the day, but walking around and reading about it was very interesting. I plan to go back sometime

Very good stop on a tour of the Newport area. Views are good, and the fort has local history. It's well worth making the effort to get there.

Wonderful spot to enjoy a nice day and learn about Newport and the history of the fort. Might even catch whiff of a ghost!

Without the tour inside the fort, Fort Adams is just a nice place to take in the vista over the water. The tour makes it oh so memorable! We were there once before and probably would have skipped the Fort entirely if I had not heard from others that the tour is really good. They take you inside the fort... More

Insightful and interesting. Good place for taking photos with scenic backgrounds or historic architecture. Be prepared for walking, stairs and underground tunnels. Our guide truly made this a memorable experience.

It was a beautiful day, on the warm side, and not too windy when we went to Fort Adams State Park. The grounds are really pretty. There wasn't too much wind ( but bring a sweater/jacket), so we decided to have a picnic. It's so pretty to look out at the water and boats, not to mention what a relaxing... More
