Without the tour inside the fort, Fort Adams is just a nice place to take in the vista over the water. The tour makes it oh so memorable! We were there once before and probably would have skipped the Fort entirely if I had not heard from others that the tour is really good. They take you inside the fort... More

Insightful and interesting. Good place for taking photos with scenic backgrounds or historic architecture. Be prepared for walking, stairs and underground tunnels. Our guide truly made this a memorable experience.

It was a beautiful day, on the warm side, and not too windy when we went to Fort Adams State Park. The grounds are really pretty. There wasn't too much wind ( but bring a sweater/jacket), so we decided to have a picnic. It's so pretty to look out at the water and boats, not to mention what a relaxing... More

I've only visited Ft. Adams State Park for the annual Jazz Festival. So I am sure there are aspects of the old fort, certain areas, guided tours, etc. that may be open and offered during other times of the year. But as a festival venue, it is AWESOME. Imagine this: I am standing there 10 feet from the water under... More

Make this a destination on your Ocean Drive exploring. The Fort offers tours that are wonderfully informative and leads you into surprising areas. I've taken the tour many times with out of town guests and learn something new each time. I took friends out on a bright winter day and although a the chill in the air and stiff breeze... More

Arrived shortly before dusk and viewed 10 deer feeding, sea birds, and seals playing in the water. Volunteers inside were friendly and very excited to share their knowledge about the wild life. Especially the snowy owl. We will certainly visit Fort Adams on our next visit to Newport.

Went to a reggae concert, brought our lawn chairs, set up under this little tree. It rained about 5 minutes, the show was great and the venue was perfect for a concert

Nice peace of history. Beautiful photo opportunities. Don't go on a cold day like I did! If you do, dress very warm.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the fort. This fort is very large and imposing. We enjoyed walking around the fort and learning its history and its various uses. Also the tunnel section of the tour was unique. The 5 ft tall section is a little difficult to get thru, but you are, oh so happy,... More
