This is a beautiful park In Buffalo.
We were here for a college Cross-Country race on Saturday, 10/16. Unfortunately it was a little chilly and rainy but still a very nice park.
There is a golf course and a zoo in the boundary of this park, but we didn’t have time nor was the weather conducive to those activities.
A couple pictures of the park and shots during the race ate attached.

Anything that has to do with nature I can appreciate. It's a big park with beautiful views, well kept and so peaceful. I went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. Good for a walk or just to sit and enjoy the views.

Delaware Park is a big park that has a little bit of everything for everyone. For any zoo fan this park offers a good sized zoo that is always full of excitement with a verity of animals and exhibits.
Outside the zoo there is something for almost every sport and fitness lover. To walk the whole path going around the park 1 lap it took me about 45 minutes. I also saw bikers on this path too. Part of the path is for pedestrian and biker’s only. While walking i saw basketball courts, huge golf course, soccer nets and baseball field. I even saw an outdoor gym. There are picnic tables and benches throughout the park. There are plenty of free parking throughout the park. There is a good sized lot near the basketball courts. Parking near the zoo will cost $5.00 for most of the year. The parking lot is opened to anyone at the zoo or enjoying time at The Delaware Park.
Next time you are in the area go check out this fantastic park!

So I went in for a Dr. appoint and she told me that I need to get my blood pressure down,. She took out her prescription pad and began to write. She handed it to me and I read "Walk in Delaware Park".
What a great suggestion that was. It is beautiful there and the Buffalo Zoo near by is an added bonus.

Super accessible and lovely open park designed by Olmsted and part of the Parks system in Buffalo, a lovely, well used area for all people to recreate, exercise and enjoy. Bring your bike or blades, or just your feet and have fun!

I just love delaware park it is a beautiful place to walk the dogs around hoyt lake and through the park . Shakespeare in the park is the place to be if you like the theater thing. Just bring some folding chairs and sit on top of the hill or a blanket and lay on the hill. The play is FREE Bring a lunch and a cooler or they sell hot dogs hamburgers or sausage and water or soft drinks for a reasonable price. You can rent canoes. There is a beautiful rose garden you have to see to believe. Soccer field playground for the kids . Visit the Art Gallery Cross over the spiral bridge to the Japanese garden and visit the historical society. See the giant statue of David or Abe Lincoln plus several others.

It was a cold day in Buffalo for us seniors to get out and enjoy the wonderful walking and jogging trail. But we did a drive-by. Many people were utilizing the park and enjoying the cold but sunny day. There are tennis courts, a baseball diamond, park benches and tables and it is right next to the Buffalo Zoo. We didn't see any BBQ grilles but it is early in the season. The trees haven't turned green yet but it was beautiful nevertheless. One road inside the park was closed so we weren't able to see it all. Lots of construction going on in the area but the traffic was moving steadily. A nice and safe area as far as we can determine. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather.
