710 THEATER BUFFALO NY
Feb 2020
I went with 2 friends to see Men are from Mars Woman are from Venus at the 710 theater and I was pleasantly surprised, they redid the theater since the last time I was there and it's quite nice inside. No bad seats as there are only probably 500 seats and the seats are very comfortable and there is alot of leg room unlike Shea's where you feel jammed in as the space in between rows is quite tight. I really enjoyed the show the guy was a 1 man show and funny the three of us laughed so hard we were crying. I enjoyed the show so much, I bought another set of tickets came home and got my husband and went back an hour later to see it again with a different perspective from his view.
I would for sure go back to this venue for another show. I want to see Menopause and Irma Bombeck when they come back.
They have little tables and a bar to chill at before the shows, as the doors open 1 hour prior to show time. They also have a small snack bar, candy, cookies, pop and water for purchase.
Would definately recommend this venue for shows

Buffalo's Theater District reminds me, of a small sample size of  NYC's  Times square. You have bright lights, live theaters, movie theater, restaurants, retail shops, art galleries. There is literally something for everyone here. Downside with anything down here is the parking. It's very limited, you may end up walking a few blocks to find a spot.

Shuffle off to Buffalo

Loved visiting Buffalo's Theater District and was quite surprised by all it has to offer. It was also great seeing how many talented people came from this amazing city. It's easy to access in the downtown area and can't wait to return for a show.

OK for an attraction, but needs more
Mar 2017 • Friends
I had never been to to this part of Buffalo before, but we had tickets to see an event in the Tralf, so we visited on a Sunday night. My views on this place were OK, but certainly not on par with many other theater districts I have visited, so I will try to keep this objective. First of all, the place did not seem very lively. Many "theater districts" in cities around the country are thriving, bustling centers of activity with tons of restaurants and entertainment-related activities. While the Buffalo version does have a number of real "theaters" and other smaller venues, there just doesn't seem to be much between these businesses. We did see a few restaurants, some of which were closed although the bars appeared to be open.

I also felt as though finding a parking spot should have been much easier than it was. There were no spots open on the road (although we got lucky and one car did pull out, making room for us), but even trying to find a parking lot with paid space appeared to be fruitless. We made two passes trying to find a spot in that way. If you go more than 1-2 blocks off the main road, it gets into some territory that looked a bit more questionable, although I have no idea of the level of crime there; it may be very low.

In summary, it's nice that Buffalo can have its own Theater District, but it's not someplace that I would go out my way to visit.

A Bit Empty
Jul 2016
We were in the theater district to attend an event at the Tralf. The show was excellent. However as we wandered through the theater district, we saw a lot of venues, however there was very little activity...and this was a Friday night. The theaters did not seem to be advertising events, and may have not been in use. The complete lack of people on the streets seemed odd. I think that the theater district has great potential, bit if being very under-utilized.

Intimate setting, no bad seats

Just saw Love Letters this weekend, 5/14 with Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal. This was at 710 Main Theater. There are no bad seats in this Theater. Plenty of room between seats. Wide isle for walking and handicap access. You feel so close to the stage that you are almost part of the show. Very clean, too. I will return for other shows.

Getting there
Apr 2016 • Friends
Lots of unique theaters and shows. Nice mix of original and restored architecture but still missing a vibe. Local and chain restaurants are to be found in the district along with an art gallery and hostel. Buffalo transit runs right through the heart of the district for easy access.

??? District. Well, maybe.
Buffalo as long seen its glory days past. What's left of the theater district is a mixed bag. Shea's is great. The other smaller theaters are less significant and much less interesting. Unfortunately the street is marred by a horrible light rail that goes smack dab down the center.

Some reasonable restaurants close to Sheas

Parking is usually a hassle. In the winter it's a very unpleasant street to walk.

Never struck me as a very safe place to be.

Lots of rebuilds
Jul 2014 • Solo
There is lots of rebuilds and renovations on this street. Makes it a bit difficult to walk around because some parts of the sidewalks are closed.

Apart from that it's lots of theaters, shops and restaurants to choose from.

In the end of the district (or beginning depends on how you see it) there is a big sign saying "Buffalo Theatre District". In front of the sign some flowers are growing which I thought looked nice.

what district?
Jul 2013 • Couples
really, despite all the intentions to re-invent the wheel, the thought of this as a "district" is a joke, like shea's and the seven dwarfs... and then they take the rapid-transit stop out? ... how many times can buffalo shoot itself in the food? are we a centipede?
